Where are you getting this info? Most people in my tax bracket that I know, at least in high cost of living areas, hardly invest or save any money. They buy homes they can’t really afford, cars they can’t really afford, and toys they can’t really afford. They are saving and investing far less than they need to be able…

The EV tax credit is one of those double-edged swords where on the one hand I’m like, “hey they should be able to do this without subsidies” and on the other hand I’m like, “but we need the people to buy this stuff so the makers can innovate.”

If it was only at high loads I could see some potential engine/trans movement on the mounts cause grind (thanks to cable trans), but at low speeds and low load like that...yikes.

Yes, the fact that the settings are on touchscreen at all is the true crime here. I’m so sick of cars “simplifying” by removing tactile switches and buttons. I can drive my BMW with my eyes looking ONLY at the road. Any changes to wiper adjustment, stereo volume, audio track, cruise control; can be done by feel alone.

Also, generally, if you have $100k laying around, you can make a lot more money investing that $100k than you would be losing paying interest on the loan. In this particular case I would disagree, but take your average new car loan of 1-3% interest and yeah, you can make a hell of a lot more investing that money.

I have never found pot to make you a worse driver. If you are soooo high that you don’t know up from down, you don’t even want to drive. It doesn’t sound fun or safe.
