I did study car design but no, I wasn’t on the actual team.

As I learned from the development of the ND Miata - Headlights are relatively much heavier then body for the same surface area, and large intakes are lighter.

I think the problem is all the vertical elements combined with the squinty head and tails. It’s like the designers were in angst trying to fill up space below the lights, went to photoshop, box select the lower half and stretched it down 40%.

It is dumb, and that’s why I love it.

You can buy one in Canada and drive it there if you are close enough to the border.

This car is so strange, it’s butt ugly in pictures, but in person it looks pretty good.
