Not a lot of compact and mid-size wagon choices in the US market, sadly :-( Civic, Corolla, Camry, and Accord not offered in wagon versions here. Some of the top selling sedans.

I only turn my traction control off when i’m in the middle of nowhere dicking around. Other than that? Its on.

I turn off TC and Stabilitrak all the time... in my super awesome Turbocharged 6 speed manual ... 1.4L 138HP FWD Cruze Eco...

If the battery in my BRZ’s fob dies, I simply eject the physical key and open the door manually. My car has push-start, so there is no slot for the key to actually start it. If the fob is dead, you simply physically hold the fob up against the Start/Stop button, which will detect it using

Hmmm good to know on the thievery front. As for the breaking, buy a Ford. Cheap Mercedes piece of crap. ;)

On a serious note, do you think the chip reading/proximity detection even needs to be powered? I can’t see why a simple RFID chip couldn’t be used and in fact may be used. The fob buttons, of course, need to be

LOL, you know nothing about keyless start systems. If my battery dies, there’s a little slot on the dash for me to stick the fob into, the car reads it (somehow), and away I go. But you shouldn’t be letting the battery die on you anyway, because the car warns you when the battery is getting low.

They can lock them from the inside, you just can’t press the outside lock button on the door.

He doesn’t though. His reply to you says as much. A keyless fob isn’t literally “keyless”. Maybe don’t wash things you don’t want to break. Are cell phones stupid because you can’t wash them?

It sounds like he only cares about himself and the pleasure he reaps from bragging about his 75hp gains. F the rest of you all and your “air”. Pansies!

When I have dropped my keys, nothing has happened to my fob. EVER. That being said, I drop them a whole lot less when they are literally in my pocket all day long. I have washed it. Numerous times. Still works. And yes, they have batteries that can eventually go dead. They also have physical keys inside. Little thing

Then just take out the physical key that’s inside the fob. And I’ve dropped mine probably 20 times, they’re not made of glass.

Agreed. That one is nonsense.

FWD sure kicks the pants off RWD living in Canada. Having to load up your trunk with extra weight so you can get enough traction is really terrible.

Sorry, keys are outdated and dumb. There is nothing to be gained from them now that keyless fobs exist. You can leave your fob lying in the cupholder (oh no!) but you can just as easily (more easily as a matter of fact) leave your keys there too. The difference being, if my keys are in the cupholder, I have likely

*punk kid* hey mister, is your refrigerator running?
