Electricity is a fungible commodity, so no there’s no way to separate out the electrons once they’re in the grid. However when you buy from renewable sources the companies provide proof that the energy was indeed produced renew-ably. While the electrons don’t literally come to your house, the effect is the same and

kWh is energy, not power. Think of it as the gas tank size. kW, as in how fast the motor uses energy is the power metric more like horsepower.

If that were true, why would analysts be worried about sales goals falling short? They’re at a net loss because of spending money on expanding rapidly, but if they sold more cars they wouldn’t have a larger loss. If you can’t see that then I suspect you’ve shorted their stock.

This is like suing the car maker for not putting cup holders in.

Tesla “loses” money on every factory they build, not on each car they sell. The loss per unit gotcha may technically be true, but it’s a lie of omission.

This guy entered his phone number for the business entry on google maps. Phone hijacking is a common issue for service area businesses like cars for hire, but it looks like he got in over his head this time.

The kWh is in reference to the size of the tank, or amount of potential energy the car can carry. The P and D indicators are what dictate the motor sizes and therefore torque and wheel power output. Motors and batteries may get more efficient allowing for better efficiency but the potential energy unit is fixed.

Pretty sure the MR8 would be a passenger van. Didn’t the “2” stand for 2-seater?

Complete speculation, but it may have been the seas involved. If a boat is rising and falling, not to mention rolling, with significant motion it can be very difficult to maintain adequate play in the winch line. Two small boats together would tend to be in sync, and a larger craft would be more stable overall.

Nope. Fingerprints aren’t secure or shareable. I’ll carry a device.

I thought they weren’t allowed to sell any 2015 or 2016 TDI’s.

EVs currently get around 30 mpg equivalent if they’re powered entirely by coal. As we move from coal to solar it will skyrocket.

If every car on the highway was an electric car, every parking space would be a charging station.

Also they don't "literally fly over the water" because of the wingsails. There are foils on the centerboards and rudders that generate upward lift from boatspeed rather than the lateral lift used for propulsion.

I think the "exciting new" speculation was that these features might be retrofit on older models since the software was pushed to them. Turns out not to be the case, but it would be exciting if you could just add the new model's features to your current car without much fuss.

Got 'em on my Focus ST, thought they're integrated into the headlamp cluster not separate lights on the side. Activated by turning the wheel or turn signal under 20mph.

Electronic Parking Brake?

Focus was a much better fit for me, since I occasionally have more than two people and a bag of groceries to transport. Also bagging on the low "value" and then recommending a similar bargain car doesn't really make sense. Are you a car snob or not?

17? Did you go from an EV to a garbage truck?
