I do like the looks/specs of this, and the review obviously is very positive. My concern is that every other car maker is cutting back (or completely removing) sedans... so what is the real potential here? Is this just another good car that will disappear in 3 years to be replaced by yet another mediocre crossover?

What else is in this collection? Intimidator Edition Monte Carlos and a Chevy Celebrity “Eurosport”?

If you want something weird, rare, and cheapish for meets, and are well aware that this engine can be an absolute fucking nightmare....why not? I’d rather wave my freak flag with the super rare manual, but this is a great color and the condition appears to be tops.  NP for the right buyer.

Probably super-safe from getting car-jacked. So it’s got that going on.

I won’t call it collectible, but this is probably a reasonable price for someone who really wants the best Lumina they can get. Who is that someone? Beats me. Maybe a young Gen Xer or older Millennial who has a soft spot for a car that used to make up half of the high school’s parking lot.

There is no reason for this to be a video. You already have a popular column with the same premise.

*excludes other GM products

As a person trying to help my wife find her next car, I get it, she wants a sedan, and the stinger is on the list, but having the extra room of a small SUV for similar money, similar fuel economy and realistically for her similar driving experience... makes it hard to go with a sedan. (although I see a nice compromise

God DAMMIT it is spelled brake! Make all the jokes you want about “haha the VW breaks” but a god damn auto publication should know better!

Quirky ads aside, I wish VW sold the Touareg in the US still. I’ve always liked their styling and would rather have one of them than an Atlas.

This is a dumb question. There are no cars that are too small right now. Even something objectively tiny on the road today—think Mitsubishi Mirage—is basically still a bit bigger than an original VW Beetle which sold an utter crap ton around the world.

None!  They’re all too big!

The fine for this violation between 2011 and 2014 amounted to less than the profit of one quarter of their sales - for their lowest sales month of the four years for that truck.

I drove a 1996 Geo Tracker which isn’t really much different from this in terms of rollability. And I was like, 19. Drove it like an idiot everywhere. I never managed to flip it over. With the manual and the ridiculous first gear you could get it to break traction and drift sideways before it rolled over.

My first reaction was no dice. But this thing could be as fun, in its own way, as an old MG or Triumph, and even the cheapest old sports car is bringing this kind of money in very good condition, and it is easier to find a chrome bumper MGB or TR6 than a decent one of these. Plus the color and whole car is such an 80s

The ugly face sure didn’t help either.

all these new billionaires have to buy SOMEthing

I like it! It’s a shame Toyota didn’t make more, much less sell them in the US.
