Don’t forget about when the “real” 1st gear is so short, they call it “Super Low.” And this is just on an old Honda. SL is was good for like 20mph at 6500rpm.

Non-news. I once accidentally started off in 3rd. The engine took it just fine, with me giving a normal amount of clutch slip for the expected 1st gear start. Only after I started moving did I realize I only had the available torque of a higher gear. Gotta love the LS1.

I’m nothing like Fierlow, but that would make sense with my driveway being what it is.

Looks like an S-10 Blazer / S-15 Jimmy to me.

Chevrolet: “You can get the new Colorado with a manual, but only in the configuration that we’re sure no one wants!”

I said that modern trucks were getting too big, and I want a smaller truck with a manual. The Colorado came out, and the manual is only available in one configuration. I bought one, ordered to my specs brand new. Now if it was available in the crew cab, it would do everything I can compromise on and I wouldn’t be

Well yeah!

I’ve never had an issue with noise unless I go super slow and get caught where the drive axle is teetering on one wheel (btw, that’s always funny).

I agree. I don’t know if I’ve encountered a double like that too often, but the angle is still probably the best bet. One way to fine out!

A little bit, yeah. I have to take the angle with my stock height GTO, too. So it’s not always just lowered cars...

I always go up at an angle. It’s such a habit, that I even do it in my truck, which can and has gone up my driveway at a 90° angle to the street. It really hasn’t been hard at all for me, and most if not all of my friends have complained about my and/or my parents driveways.

It’s silly on the street STI (making a distinction here from the track cars) because it’s a regular old sedan/sometimes hatchback. And I am saying this as someone who does like the STI, but bang for the buck is on a new WRX non-STI.

I mean, a 638hp car finding the vents to be a necessity more than a 305hp car does? A 205mph car with carbon ceramic brakes, versus a 160mph car with a silly bench on the truck?

I’ve ridden in one with a track instructor driving (it was his personal car). 2ZZ swapped, and he knew what he was doing. It was awesome. This was a little tight course, too, so with the weight of that car it really didn’t need over 200hp to be a rocketship.

Midengined cars are best cars.

You misspelled “beautiful.”

The first time my truck got used as a truck, I was visiting a friend out of town who had recently bought a house. He asked if I’d want to check out Best Buy, and look at TVs... well, he didn’t have a TV yet, or a truck. So he played me pretty good, lol. Not that I’m complaining.

The Scrambler is largely influenced by my opinion that a homeowner should own a truck. I’m looking to say goodbye to my 04 GTO and my 15 Colorado to get into a Golf R. This means I’m going to be keeping my eyes open for a good, and inexpensive, small truck to keep around for truckly duties (probably a first gen

That’s good to know about the Golf R! I’ve never been a fan of Haldex even on principal. But at the same time, I found that it was possible to have awd drifting fun with a Honda Civic Wagovan, which has only a viscous coupling for the rear drive, that was supposedly only sending 10% of the torque to the rear wheels.

I’m just kind of old school, and I like the looks of analog gauges (even when they’re completely computer controlled). I know that the new stuff is impressive. One of the other cars I really like is the CTS V-sport, and I would prefer that with its digital gauges. Part of the reason for that is, as you know, the base
