A further problem is that as those boomers are retiring/dying, their positions aren’t being filled. Either their pay rates are receiving substantial downgrades, or the positions are being eliminated entirely, so millenials (now in their 30s, for the most part) have no real income ladder to climb. It sucks. A lot.

I take issue with the idea of millennials or GenZ killing” or “saving” industries. What is killing the automotive industry (and dairy, jewelry, etc) is capitalism. The tenets of capitalism keep wages low, but raise prices as high as they will go for max profit. Over decades, this philosophy prices younger people out

Last one, I swear.

5 weeks minimum, not a month ^^
factory workers are probably around 7 weeks paid vacation with RTT (people get paid on the basis of 35h work week here, but work 39. The 4 hours/week are converted into RTTs, which are paid days off to add on top of paid vacation time.).

My wife has a long commute and will be buying a new SUV/CUV soon. The 40mpg RAV4 hybrid is a very compelling choice.

Dodge: Please take the shipping covers off

Not surprised about first gear. Between rent, student loans, rising taxes, and the cost of every thing else, who can afford a $25k-$30k brand new car? Even a nice used car is stretching it in my experience.

I love my 2009 Fit. A plug-in would be phenomenal. If Honda made a slightly more upscale version with better highway experience, I'd be all over it. Where is a Japanese version of the A5 or GTI?

Aren’t we all though?
