I was waiting for the right wing talking points to make their way here. The USPS does NOT lose money because it allows Jeff Bezos and Amazon to “just drop packages on the floor” and say “deliver it.” The USPS actually breaks even or makes a tiny profit on operations every year. The ONLY reason that they need a bailout…

How about no so that sending and receiving mail can be accessible to everyone.

My observation: used car prices down about 5%. New car prices are no different than they have been. Dealers are in the denial stage...”I know what I have”. Deferred payments?  70+ month 0% financing?  Puh-lease.  It seems it will take a few more months of no sales for them to reach acceptance.

I work for a major OEM that’s not Honda or Nissan. Everyone will continue to be paid, those who can’t work from home are basically on vacation. The only thing we’ve had to give up so far is take a few days of PTO. I think the logic behind that is so they don’t get hit hard at the end of the year when everyone has PTO…

That would (figuratively) sink the business right there.

A million times this. They registered in random island nations to avoid paying taxes and so they could pay their workers next to nothing. Fuck em. Hope they all go belly up. 

Considering the span of the average supply chain, it’s difficult to imagine automakers could make this sort of shift without months and months of prep, and then the electronics probably won’t even be available.
