Do you think Toyota and BMW would be so generous with wages if they didn’t have the pressure of a union on them?

The presense of unions keeps non-union shops on their toes. Because if they do not pay enough, or make the benefits good enough, their workers will either leave to go to other places that pay better in a revolving door, or they will vote a union in.

Bingo!

In this day and age though, this doesn’t really do much of anything.

I work in one of those factories. The constant threat of voting in a union is the only thing that keeps management honest. None the less, our raises don’t keep up with inflation and our benefits continue to decline.

Because they help The Man run things.

Kinda surprised to see so many scabs in the comments. Support workers y’all. Don’t buy into the anti-union propaganda.

Shutting down logistics and then ramping back up have costs even if you’re not making product.  Estimates are that it could cost them as much as $100M a day.

Full disclosure; I have driven a 53' trailer into Manhattan (as well a Brooklyn and the Bronx) on several occasions, without incident.

I wondered about that, and I don’t think the truck took out the fire hydrant.

I am terribly disappointed that the fire hydrant is not spewing water 80 feet in the air and dozens of children have not come to frolic in it. Another Hollywood myth shattered.

I bet the husband was thrilled...

That is perhaps the WORST film technique that I have ever seen.

heres mine!

I would think if companies are going to knowingly violate anti-trust laws, they would attempt to do it in secret vs holding a press conference with a state.

This shit show demonstrates just how out of touch Trump’s administration is with reality. On one hand whining about other countries not buying US products.

3rd Gear: Not only blatantly full of shit, but career-endingly stupid for the lawyers involved, bare minimum. I’m no lawyer, but it’s pretty obvious corporations voluntarily signing an agreement with a state over product standards isn’t an anti-trust matter. Federal regulations can supersede state regulations, of

We all knew this was coming. Cadillac really bungled the launch of these cars. They’ll probably be excellent like their predecessors. I just wish they would have avoided silly trends in the design of the CT5 and instead made a classy, good looking car like they used to.
