If you do jiu jitsu you’re going to be drenched in sweat, your sweat, your partners sweat, everyone else’s sweat. It comes with the territory, do put on a clean shirt before class, but other than that don’t worry about it.

As with many things, that’s a safety issue. It may be light enough for you to workout safely but not them, and if so they need to turn the lights on.

I just have a basic sports watch from target with a 90 second timer set on it, that is my law. I leave it up, as soon as I’m done I hit the timer, and I start my next set when the timer goes off.

Agree about correcting people, but there should be no stigma around asking for a spotter. The reality is that for some things if you want to improve you have to use a spotter, and it is an important safety thing. Safety always trumps comfort. Spotting someone for 30 seconds isn’t going to ruin your “zone.”

I also love how she watched her goal all the way in, even while falling and spinning in mid-air, she knew what she did.
