Because these systems are designed with double to triple redundancy for the sensors and mechanically designed so that the chance of a sensor failure causing this to happen is infinitesimally small. (ex: 2 opposing sensor motions)

They have double if not triple redundancy on the pedal sensors and mechanically design the sensing system so it’s basically mechanically impossible for both sensors to fail and report WOT. if anything were to mismatch for even a split second with those senors the car…
