your logic breaks down when you compare the cost of a used corvette to a new mustang. that's not an accurate comparison.

meh, 6/10 would still bang
ohhh so THAT's people want hi-cap mags?
I apologize for the rudeness, that too was a knee jerk reaction to a knee jerk reaction
let's all be completely clear, the man did his job. He wasn't responsible for the ignition switches in any way shape or form, he's just a lawyer hired to represent the company in court. Which is what he did. And wouldn't you want to "retire" after 37 years at a company and you just got railed by idiotic congressmen…
oh fuck off he did his job. what did you expect? for him to get up and say "oh yes congressman/woman, we deliberately meant to kill people with our cars, and I the lawyer am personally responsible."
right. so because the sales rep said that he/she didn't see a new feature coming down the pipe, before the company officially announces it, you're pissed? welcome to being a fucking consumer.
they're not fighting for it because they A. they still need to sell cars, and B. they want tesla to fail because tesla is a competitor.
no not perhaps, that's the way it is. Companies would love to drop a car off on your driveway instead of dealing with the dealerships, but they can't fight it or else the dealers would protest and they couldn't sell anything
there are some benefits to large companies to have the dealer network, for example, the manufacturer can dictate to the dealer that in order to get x amount of high volume, large profit margin products, like trucks, they'll have to buy y econoboxes too. So it's a way for a company to dampen the effects of an unpopular…
you talk like this is some rinky dink startup, this is lockheed fucking martin. they are the military industrial complex, they have senators in their pocket, they have generals in their pocket, and they may be one of the only groups with enough power to knock over big oil before the oil runs out.
yeah... but these guys are jumping an xtv off a cliff. you're not exactly dealing with neurosurgeons here.
no, this is engineering reality. Which you are completely ignorant of. If the engineers are so damn lazy, get an engineering degree yourself in fix it. Otherwise you're adding nothing to the conversation you're completely ignorant on
not only are you completely ignorant to what it takes to build a car, you're incredibly arrogant about it to.
I like that you, an armchair automotive engineer, are so sure ford cut corners on the car that's the face of the company because they're "lazy".
it's that it's too quiet for people's taste. sound deadening has gotten so good in cars today that you wouldn't hear the engine at all. Also the turbo eats a lot of noise
Hey at least you had the decency to apologize and feel bad about the whole thing.
I look at that thing and the first word that comes to mind is "evil"
well after seeing the new model S-dual motor, I'm eating my shorts. While I don't agree that the normal model S is more special than the i8, the D sure is.
