If the Chinese want to export to the US, fine. However they must obey the same tariffs they impose on our cars when we export them to China.

Obligatory
I'd buy the shit out of an M6 if I had the money. They're pretty stunning in person
dear god yes, you're piloting 2000lbs of steel and indigestion around a track at high speeds, if you're heart stops you lose control and could kill anyone from bystanders to other drivers to track crew.
any road in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan. If you are going straight on a one lane road, your lane will suddenly become a left hand turn lane and you have to make a right to go straight, then the same thing happens again 3 times. half of the roads are one way only for no clear reason. They snake and intersect in…
I didn't find it to be that bad
I consider the japanese to be "big boys." also GM is trying to get into that market too, just look how their lineup has changed since 2000. Though granted they are definitely lagging in that segment.
even though they have a factory, that factory will need a complete overhaul to be able to mass produce cars, and even if they have that plant running 3 shifts and have optimized the hell out of the manufacturing process, their facility still doesn't hold a candle to the ones belonging to the Big 3, or foreign auto…
That's assuming talented engineers all think that way and don't care about things like job security, income, and growth opportunities. And let's face it, we're engineers and logical thinking is what we do above all else. So some engineers might want to give up logical advantages like those mentioned above for…
40 years ago going 70 on the highway would be horrifying. Today I can go 90 in my escape and feel like im on rails.
come up short, come up cheaper, and come up at dealer networks around the country.
10 years is a long time, and everyone agrees that their valuation isn't a fair representation of the company's health. Also Elon has a habit of selling off his creations and moving to the next one when he's done, so that needs to be considered.
making the best car in the world is remarkably easy, all you have to do is throw money and time at it. That's not engineering. Engineering is making the best car for the lowest possible price, in the shortest amount of time.
Tesla, although they make great vehicles, won't survive on their own in the auto industry, which is one of the most savage places to do business shy of investment banking. They're not big enough, they're making their products in the wrong region, they lack the economies of scale, and they lack production capacity. At…
This this this. I don't believe Tesla will be able to remain autonomous for more than a decade simply because they won't be big enough to stop someone else from buying them out. However I believe Daimler or Toyota will buy them out first, seeing as they already have a stake in the company
The only reason Tesla cars are better "engineered" is because they don't have to compromise much for profitability. Their engineers aren't any more talented than GMs, in fact I'd say GM has more talented engineers than Tesla simply because GM has the money and power to hire more, better engineers.
beat me to it... but it's probably also about vodka
