Because they risk the ire of Cancel Culture if they don’t condemn it. Actually, I think GM had an appropriate response - they didn’t approve or disapprove, just stood behind their product.

In a large business you try and not get involved with partisan politics, you’ll end up alienating a humungous part of the population without gaining much if anything from the people who agree with the party you seem to be endorsing. Trump is quite a partisan figure.

Column shift really does free up a ton of space, while still offering the statefulness of a regular gear shift. They should have stuck with it for the trucks.

These things will sell in HUGE numbers.

Yea, not sure what he is saying.  The Escalade outsold everything in its class last year.

If everyone buys everything else then why are there so many Escalades around?

I personally dig it. I've always been a fan of Cadi's design language since the 1st Gen CTS though. It looks expensive, purposeful, but not garish. The c pillar kink and floating roof BS cheapen it, but overall I think they did an excellent job inside and out. I'm not the demographic for this type of car, but I see

I’m glad we’re getting away from the “GRR EVERYTHING MUST BE ANGRY” design language, but now they’ve transitioned to the “I must concentrate on not shitting my pants” design language.

It’s different, but not an improvement.

People still rage quit this COD a lot. I hate when it becomes 3v6 and takes a million years to refill the team.

Nope.  Despite the Jalopnik crowd destroying it, you know the average ‘Mercian will love it and sales will of course be awesome.

Plenty of people buying Ecoboost F-150s.  I’ve noticed they don’t tend to buy aftermarket exhausts for them though.  Exhaust companies must be furious with Ford.

Bro.  We get it.  You don’t like Corvettes.  You don’t have to be the first poster on every Corvette article giving us another reason why you hate Corvettes.

Exactly this.  Kotaku.  You love video games.  Don’t post about these.  They get shut down within the day when you do.

I’ve smelled plenty of "tuner" cars running without cats. Not that I agree with rolling coal as that's absolutely ridiculous, but car guys do the same thing.

Truck people need not apologize for their choice in vehicle, just like no one in a sports car should apologize for theirs. The whole hating on trucks/cuvs/SUVs things is dumb and tired. Don’t like that I get less mpgs than you? Eat a scabby dick and worry about your own pitiful and sad existence.

I’m guessing the next gen V12 will have cylinder deactivation like the latest Bentley W12. That makes big gains in MPG when you don’t need all the power.

Dude there are like 5 of these cars ever driving at the same time around the world... and not for many miles either, much fewer than Matt put on for his review.

Fuck those barbershop guys. They wouldn't have tipped anyway and were happy to find an excuse to be cheapasses.

I test drove a Civic Si recently and the very young salesman had me pull it out of the very tight corner it was in and then asked me to back it into a spot on the lot when we got back. Unusual because they usually just have you park it somewhere up front and they park it back later. It didn’t dawn on me until later
