I'm a Lovecraft fan and, while I recognize which story it comes from, I don't recognize the picture itself. What is its origin?

I've got a Kindle since I've never found a (legitimate) way to stream to a regular Android tablet. Running them from the Android browsers don't seem to work, at least as I've seen... what's your secret to getting it to work?

Out of curiosity, other than the lack of durability and abundance of crappiness (which are both hidden by having a desk job and a long skirt) what's your take on cheapie drug store flats? There's no box-toe, it's little more than a sock with rubber sole and shiny colored upper.

I tried browsing using TOR once while connected to a public wifi spot. It was painfully slow and ultimately the person on the next TOR layer could still potentially intercept the traffic, and in fact was more likely to do so than a random stranger in Starbuck's.

Picked mine up on Amazon for $94.99 with free Prime shipping. My cubicle-neighbor passed, since he couldn't find a "Compatible with Mac" note on it.

I usually consider that sort of thing a practical abuse of Murphy's Law: If I want it to rain, I go get my car washed. Same idea.

Actually, if you've got time (and this one's not for the book...) I ran across a small bet while chatting with a friend:

If you were to just speculate, how far down the rabbit hole does matter go? Atoms are made of their constituent subatomic particles, some of which (baryons) are made of smaller particles yet (quarks).

Or make a house full of popcorn...

I always figured it was rc plane + autonomous or semi-autonomous piloting. I don't think slapping a wireless camera on an rc plane or helicopter counts.

My employer (government) has the salary of every employee, total expenses per agency, etc... all available through a public website. Anyone with access can see how much I make, look up my phone number, and then mock me for being paid so little.

The backscatter X-Ray machines they're taking out use ionizing radiation with a cumulative exposure effect. Eventually, you'll develop chromosomal problems (including various cancers) from these. Considering you're going to be flying right after going through one of these, it's possible that the damage never gets

There are a number of articles out there (likely all quoting the same study, mind) suggesting that venting anger actually increases your likelihood of certain diseases such as heart attacks and ulcers. Google "venting anger" if you'd like to know more.

Yes and no. Rémi Mathis was an admin editing under his real name and convenient to the DCRI offices. Integrity makes you a target to bureaucracy.

*shrug* why not, maybe something to toss on a tablet and read while on breaks.

Make sure you do that in this judge's Federal court district, since the decision isn't binding outside it.*

Thanks again!

Just put it in my Amazon cart. Thanks!

Maybe it rained a lot where she came from? Of course, the fabric looks to be terrycloth...
