This was a great ending to a great season.
This was a great ending to a great season.
So Ole Munch closes the season with a good old munch of biscuit.
Meh, he spent 100 years totally alone, speaking to nobody. He’d be fine.
Though it’s a bit odd that there isn’t a single acknowledgement of COVID, when it always seemed very deliberate that the season was set in the very latest time before it would need to deal with that.
I wasn’t sure about this either. My only guess was this was where Munch did his weird ritual before invading the house and that flash was just a reminder.
Well, it is a work of fantastical fiction after all...
You’d be surprised how long bad men in power get away with shit. Political and economic power was practically invented to lure sociopaths and greedy monsters to leadership positions.
Usually I instantly roll my eyes at slow, dramatic versions of pop songs, but the Toxic scene is absolutely how to do it right. Everything we now know about Britney Spears is clearly a deliberate part of the effect, and one that’s all the more fulfilling for having to work a bit to realize it.
“this season is set in modern day, meaning it is ostensibly post-MeToo, and anyone who is meeting Roy for 2 minutes is seeing what kind of man he is. She’d be believed.”
That last scene tonight with the phone call with VD and the closing shot of Lorraine seeing the photos of a battered Dot was A+ Jennifer Jason Leigh. She definitely should get awards for this role.
That’s one movie adaptation that restores the gay relationship the first movie didn’t have the guts to keep. Bring on Fried Green Tomatoes!
Theory#5 His other side pieces.
It’s also kind of wild to list It’s A Wonderful Life as a movie that will shield you from hard feelings as that movie is dark, y’all.

‘Critical Race Theory’ was always just the fuel to get the fire going. Now polls say 40% of Republicans oppose teaching of any race history. At all. And that’s the 40% of Republicans who are willing to say it.
Helen Slatter is back as well.
M’gann will tell them when she shows up again next season.
I'm still hoping Jessie and Nicole will be in some kind of Legion of Superheroes spin off. They are so good together.
I don’t think I’ll ever understand people for whom watching a show seems to be a kind of masochism but who still turn up to dump on it anyway.
Here lies William, he never learned Kara was Supergirl. I was, btw, fairly convinced Esme was going to spill the beans to William about Kara’s identity, but I guess that’s moot now! The show never quite figured out how best to use William, though baking buddy was probably the closest they got in that regard.
