Sure, if he says he follows Christ, then he’s a Christian. His behavior here, though, flies in the face of what Christ taught and presents a negative image of Christ to the world. That’s what frustrates me.

Refusing to help someone because of their political view is no kind of Christianity. To be a Christian means to follow Christ and strive to live according to his teaching. This fella is not doing that and therefore is not acting in a Christ-like manner.

What? That makes no sense. While I am far from faultless myself, I refuse to be lumped into the same category as someone like this guy just because he says he shares the same faith. Especially when his behavior in question blatantly contradicts some of the foundational teaching of that faith.

What I meant by teachings/principles was what Jesus taught, not what man has interpreted/taught.
I think you mean to say the state of the followers of my religion. The teachings/principles/etc. are unchanging and thus in the same state they’ve always been in.
