My favorite wheel was the plastic one on my 2005 Mazda3. Thin, hydraulic, communicative, easy to clean, and didn’t age a day in 7 years of ownership. No soft leather, but I didn’t feel the need for it. Any leather more than a year old sucks anyway. Alcantara lasts about 10 good minutes, 5 of which are used up at the

Actually, not at that location. You’re thinking of the previous headquarters for Mazda Motor America (MMA); this basement is in the Mazda R&D America (MRA) building, where Mazda’s design studio (still) is, and site of the original Taco Bell headquarters on Red Hill... hilarious stories about the Taco Bell building,

I envy you! That’s understandable though. I would be totally fine with next to no information if I could just look at them. After I saw the 792P a long time ago I’ve been dying to see the rest.

oh, i dunno, that seems like a stretch.

That’s been the challenge for Mazda. It takes a drive (and not just your typical dealership around-the-block test drive) to realize why Mazda is the better choice. A 10 minute spin is just not enough for anyone to really notice the attention to details and engaging driving dynamics.

I’m pretty sure my uncle has one, he’s 80 years old and bought it on day one. Sits in his garage most of the time

I have a blacked out full skyactiv Mazda6 GT that I love, is that signature trim?

Hey, resident Mazda PR guy, quick O/T question you may or may not know the answer to.

“SKYACTIV is self-aware”.

Came here to say this. Every time I see that term,I think of “ProActiv”,and think all Mazda drivers have bad skin to go with their car’s good driving dynamics.

I’m personally a fan of the HC Luce. It’s just because it’s the star car in Hama-bi and there’s a hilarious scene where it gets driven into a garage for its police car conversion. Beat is spinning the wheels the whole time.

The worst angle my daily driven car has to offer. Thank you.

Buy an S2 RX-8 (2009-2011). Maxda implemented a bunch of reliability fixes on them, and they are affordable. 60k problem-free miles so far on my ‘11.

Now playing

Sorry, Raph, I had a hard time concentrating on reading your article with the sound of the only Japanese car to ever win Le Mans blasting through my speakers.

Also, it’s a known thing. It’s in the book. The sales guy at the dealership will tell you about it. It’s not a surprise, and it’s by design. A quart of oil every 3k miles isn’t a huge financial hardship.

Here’s to the Cosmo for paving the way. Hopefully we’ll get to see another rotary vehicle.

I’m unapologetically in love with the Mazda rotary. I get shit on about it constantly, but whatever. My RX-8 provides me with such a wonderful driving experience and there hasn’t been much else that I’ve been in that provides me the same experience.

Ayo!

Nope, sorry, you’re wrong. WRONG!

So, I just bought a ‘17 hardtop Miata. I sold a 135is to do so. No regrets, and my head only sticks out the top when my helmet is on. Also, my helmet is only on for track days, so I consider that acceptable.
