And for anyone who lived in the pre-smartphone PDA world, apps were way, WAY more expensive than they are today. For example, a solid calendar app for the Palm PDA like “DateBK” cost $27.99 and its features pale in comparison to smartphone apps like aCalendar+. Dropping $10, $20, even more was the norm.

And yet it’s loved by so many.

Yep, voice control is very useful, and the Pebble Time implementation is fairly solid. But voice control has limitations as well. For example, it’s often ineffective in noisy environments, and it’s just not appropriate in circumstances such as meetings, church, while talking on the phone, etc. In those cases, the

It’s kinda funny, because I absolutely understand that there are those who simply do not like the Pebble. But honestly, of the probably dozen or so people who own Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round watches all just love them. And most come from other platforms.

I can’t speak to the phone version, but be aware that on the desktop, the “Fast” ring tends to release updates frequently (sometimes weekly). I’m on the Fast ring on a laptop, and if I don’t use it for a while, I end up waiting a very long time for all the updates to complete.

Personal preference, I guess. BTW, can you effectively navigate an Android Wear watch while wearing gloves? Plus 1 for the easy-to-use buttons on the Pebble Time!

Then we really need to call out Lifehacker on this, since all I did was use THEIR tool to insert a link. I did not realize that they include additional affiliate information. Unfortunately, I can no longer edit the post to remove it.

Again, YMMV. I personally find the Pebble Time interface to be much simpler and intuitive. its design and use of buttons instead of a touch screen is done very thoughtfully, and actions are (with a few minor exceptions) very consistent across apps. While the overall functionality is admittedly much more limited on the

I wish, but no.

YMMV, of course. For me, the Pebble Time blows the doors off of the LG G Watch it replaced, and until a comparably equipped, and comparably affordable Android Wear watch surfaces, I’m sticking with it without any regrets.

Just get a Pebble Time!

Turn signals, people!

Yep, why complicate matters? Good knife skills really aren’t that difficult to learn, and they are invaluable.

It seems unrealistic to me that one assumption in the calculation is that you will retire with the same salary that you are making now. Sure, that would be nice, but how realistic is that?

This is really a thing?

Given that most municipalities have exclusive agreements with single cable companies, does this really spurn competition WITHIN a region?

Looks great, but as stated elsewhere, there’s some lag, particularly in opening the modules. It could be the platform, or it could just be tons of users slamming it.

OK, now that I’m seeing this extension in a new light (as a snipping tool to organize related information, not as a Pocket replacement) It really needs one HUGE improvement: Please retain the formatting of the selected text! Ok, you don’t have to save the specific fonts or highlights (bold, italic, etc.) but at the

After thinking about this more, I’m having a change or heart.

While that does work, it’s not nearly as powerful as something like Pocket. With the Pocket extension, you simply click it, and a plain text version is automatically saved to your Pocket account with a link to the original article. Highlighting text and right-clicking is certainly doable, but just far less convenient,
