The last car produced by Matra :(

Ford Broken Sport, built tough !

It was definitely not ahead of it’s time and not even considered one of the best hot hatch at the time.

It was the design cue of this generation of Le Quément design, it did not stick after the Avantime, VelSatis and Megane II.

Avantime... i wonder what it could mean...

To be fair, their other models look better :

Still not the right answer, it’s the XM that is the most underrated of the movie !

Going slower actually might mean less stop and go and often less congestion.

The Tiguan (which is shorter than the US version), Tucson and 3008 are actually ~4.5m long while the Golf, 2008 and Duster are around 4.3m and the T-Roc and Captur slightly shorter (~4.25m) while the T-Cross is 4.2m long and the Puma is 4.1m long.

Those top selling “SUVs” are CUVs that are at most of the size of a Golf except the Tucson that is slightly bigger.

The Peugeot 306 Rallye :

As i already posted on another answer on this post : at least in France they do require a license to be driven (along with mopeds) that require to pass a theoretical training then a 8 hours practical training (https://www.service-public.fr/particuliers/vosdroits/F2890?lang=en).

They have been allowed to drive 50cc mopped, motorbikes and scooters for decades and they are all limited to the same speed (45kph).

Not that it’s any important, but there is another clone, the Opel/Vauxhall Movano-E :

It seems to be related to the Jeep Compass and Renegade so it won’t use PSA parts (the Tonale was already almost ready when the merger happened and it was delayed because the new Alfa boss deemed it not good enough).

There hasn’t been a displacement tax in France in like 40 years and there is no direct power output tax, only on the average CO2/KM measured during homologation so cars with a similar power output can be on a lower tax bracket if more efficient  and/or lighter.

Driving in Paris is different to most of the rest of the country, it’s like driving in New York is different to driving in most of the US.

In France, it’s forbidden since 1988 to advertise about a car speed, acceleration or behavior that would be breaking the road rules or aggressive driving : https://www.arpp.org/nous-consulter/regles/regles-de-deontologie/automobile/
