The US probably won’t get the Mk8 until closer to 2021. VW lags really hard getting brand new Golfs to the US. We got the Mk7 about 1-1.5 years after Europe (GTIs came first), the Mk6 about 1 year after Europe, and the Mk5 a little over 2 years after Europe.
