On the chimeras: What bugs me is that the the Dread Doctors are supposedly this genius evil scientists that have "broken" the magical laws. Therefore, we as an audience expect them to be able to create horrifying, powerful creatures that don't play by the rules. Instead we are given these one-off, barely sketched

THIS. Mad scientists should either be delightfully insane or ruthlessly evil.

Of course it's Peter. Again.

- Stiles is too competent to be the Shaggy. He's more of a Velma. Scott is Fred obviously.

I get your point re: Stiles but my thing is it's also been an established character trait that he's pretty damn smart. Sure he's panicking and not thinking clearly but after that, he should have told someone. Specially now that they know someone's stealing the bodies. He has information that he needs to share with the

Bye Felicia.

Or at least a Mystic Falls-type thing where crucial members of the community know about the crazy shit that goes on.

God no, PDN's reviews were the woooooorst.

I'm cautiously optimistic. I'm not sold on some of the actors (looking at you Arrow Ninja-DJ) but there are some interesting choices in there (Ivana Baquero, Manu Bennett, John Rhys-Davies). The CG does look impressive and hopefully it's not just for the pilot.

Mama McCall is the fucking bomb. Melissa Ponzio always manages to extract some pathos from her scenes. Frankly, all the adults on the show manage to be pretty damn good despite all the bullshit.

Oh man, I just feel really bad for you @lafergs:disqus. At least I can watch this to just ogle some pretty boys and not a give fuck what any of it means. But you have to think about it, puzzle it out, and then write an analysis. Thanks for doing the homework for us. We owe you a drink.

I don't entirely get this criticism. Most of Mason's lines were more "Holy shit, this is awesome!" rather than "Hey, I'm gay!"

Well, Colton's influence is obviously still felt. Scott's unnecessary parkour flip is a patented Arsenal move.

Now I want to see Simon Russell Beale in a James Bond flick. Make it happen Logan!

And the fake mustache!

I fucking loved that opening scene on ep2. I know that classical piece has been overused but it just worked really well.

TV Club is usually my first stop after watching a show but in Hannibal's case, I check out her blog first. Her writing is just as stylized as the show and her behind the scenes tidbits are fun.

Beacon Hills = Sunnydale. There's a really high death rate that no one seems to notice.

Still pretty gay, but sadly not softcore-level gay anymore. :(
