Let’s hope not. There is such a thing as finality and any additions just come off as excessive, unnecessary, and detracting. Asylum completely wrapped up all its lose ends, and while I found Freakshow’s finale to be too “and they all lived happily ever after,” it also wrapped up everyone’s story. And there really is

“Well, that was a whole bunch of cool imagery that didn’t make a lot of sense in terms of tying up characters or plots in a satisfying way.

So after last week’s episode, I was ready to call Apocalypse the worst season in AHS history. I felt sure that they were going to try to stretch this narrative into a 2-season long arc, which seemed inexcusable and contrived. At this point, the series has mostly shed any right to call itself an anthology, but the idea

You’re right and wrong at the same time. Maria and Alexei were indeed the ones suggested to have been alive by Siberian officials, but she was actually the middle child of the family. Olga was the eldest daughter and Alexei was the youngest child (though Anastasia was the youngest daughter).

Possibly. I just sighed and rolled my eyes at it.

Perhaps a more apt title for this season would’ve been American Horror Story: Inferno. This is not an allusion to the fire-scorched post-nuclear landscape, all the trips to the underworld, or the excessive mentions of Satan, his followers, and his son, but rather, to the hell we, the dutiful fans of this series, now

You’ve got to love how equal-opportunity AHS is in its balls-to-the-wall depictions of organizations. Satanists are screaming about how this season misrepresents their beliefs, but Ryan Murphy went for the same outlandish depictions of Catholicism in Asylum and witchcraft-practitioners in Coven. Either decry all of

It’s almost as if the Bunker Survivors plotline was boring and unwatchable and that this season would’ve been better served without it. WHAT A TWIST!

“...fun, but watery Coven epilogue” seems to sum up this season pretty well.

Umm... how about it’s treatment of the Catholic Church during all of Asylum? Seriously, if you were looking for a respectful and nuanced depiction of the Church of Satan from this show, then I think you need to reexamine your priorities.

I see your point, but there’s a difference between a balls-to-the-wall craziness narrative, and acting out a scene (no matter how zany a scene) with a degree of realness; it’s writing versus acting, effects, and mis-en-scene.

Well it’s “Return to Murder House,” and many happy returns were to be found therein. It really feels like the series is being cancelled and the writers want to wrap up any loose ends and give every character a happy send off. The house is secured with the coven having taken it off the market. Now no one else will

Like old times? Hardly. Watching the reruns that’ve been playing for the past month or so as a lead up to this special reminded me of why HB was a fun show. Watching this special just felt like the 11 years in between the two segments. It left me wondering, “all that time, and this is the best you could come up with?”

Do not watch Pet Sematary (if you haven’t already), that’s a pretty big part of that movie.

They’ve brought back Queenie. They’ve brought back Misty. If I didn’t know better, I’d say this season is deliberately trying to seduce me. Tonight’s episode should be retitled “Fanservice” because it delivered it in droves. From the revival of beloved characters to the return of the Silent Movie motif to

I don’t know if I’d call that a friendship as much as two inmates passing the time while sharing a cell. You’re probably right about Langdon though.

I don’t know, AHS is most successful when it sticks to the anthology format that got it off the ground. It started blending seasons back in Freak Show and since then, I don’t think it’s been as stellar as it used to be. Why? because while the lore is cool and fun for people who’ve stuck around since the start, it also

In one episode, Apocalypse fixed one of Hotel’s greatest fuck-ups: killing the coven member we all cared about.

That’s certainly more convincing an answer than eliza-cat offered, and I grant you it would be an interesting development if the Anti-Christ actually showed compassion for someone. But still, don’t forget that he seemed genuinely interested in Mr. Gallant, until the moment where he showed he was just messing with him

I’ve got to say after, his extended stint as the vigilante Blue Morpho, it’s really satisfying to see the Monarch advancing up the Guild’s rankings by actually following the system. He’s successfully arched an adversary other than the Ventures, been a mentor, participated in a team up, and now taken on some off the
