Autocorrect really beat Aemond’s ass here.

Enought with the labor and childbirth scenes, HoD, ‘kay? This show is pumping out babies faster than Herschel Walker's mistresses.

“House Of The Dragon seems to have wildly varying ideas of what a 14-year-old looks like.”

Forced before he was ready? Absolutely. He was propositioned with a 12 year old, and a 15 year old just happened to be goaded by her father to “befriend” the grieving king. Viserys would have been expected to marry at some point- choosing Alicent was his way of saying “at least I know her.”

Royal Guard, “As promised, we burned the child-fighting arena.”
Mysaria, “And you got the children out safely?”
Royal Guard, ”As promised, we burned the child-fighting arena.”

We have less influence, good or bad, on how children turn out than we tell ourselves. People can be raised by the best parents in the world and still turn out shit. Great people can come from shit parents.

I think Paddy put it best when he said that when Aemma died, so did Viserys. His illness was a lifelong penance walk for how she died, and he was essentially forced into his second marriage. He got his sons, but at the cost of losing one of the only two people he ever loved and of alienating the other.

Im curious as to what they will do with Lord Commander Westerling.  He is such a minor character in Fire and Blood that he just dies of natural causes.  But since he's played by an actor from Outlander I expect to see this role greatly expanded.  I hope anyway, he's one of the few likable people.

It’s a problem with translating a book that has the element of parable to the screen, where things necessarily need to be more literalized. Maybe we’re supposed to see Viserys as the fluke? We can’t forget that Daemon is his brother after all.

She didn't want to be a kinslayer. Only awful, depraved people choose to be a kinslayer. 😉

“And now my lady... p-please - if you would be so kind - s-slip your royal f-f-feet into these c-c-c- c-ca - c-c - forgive me - these c-c-c (ulp) these c-c-cuh... Crocs. Ohmigod yes. In they go. Ohmigod. Gah-ahrrrl (drools).”

The Foot Fetish bit cracked me up pretty hard. I’m ashamed to admit I didn’t quite realize what was going on for certain until near the end of it (and then of course him jerking off to it was the dead giveaway).

Yeah, but a DRAGON BLEW THROUGH THE FLOOR DUDE EPICCCCCCCCC

Who needs character development, amirite?

Whether it was intentional or not, I had no idea what was going to happen at that coronation. Was Alicent going to take Rahneys’ woman empowerment talk and crown herself, was Aegon going to stab himself with the dagger, was Aemond going to pull a fast one.....and then damn! It went without a hitch!

Larys being a foot fetishist is a little too on the nose, isn’t it? You don’t need to be Freud to figure that one out.

Good as it was, I thought the scene with the stag was even better. This show can be very uneven, but any scene featuring Considine’s Viserys ‘the Jimmy Carter of Westeros’ Targaryen has been great.

And this episode we were also spared an appearance of the character on the other side of the quality spectrum, Larys

The great tragedy of the first season is seeing Alicent’s piety and devotion curdle into this sour and cruel hypocritical rectitude.

I don’t see the problem. It’s a well-known fact that House Velaryon rides to war on battle eels.

Farewell, Viserys I Targaryen, aka Phantom of the Soap Opera.

I had no issue seeing the action sequence last week or the dragon egg thing this week on my set (2020 Sony model) that defaults to Dolby Vision HDR mode for supported content. My suspicion is that they’ve optimized the show for that standard and if your set doesn’t have or doesn’t support it, it comes off as a moving
