You obviously can’t just come out and say what you mean. WHAT doesn’t look like satire to you? Are you saying the GAME looks like ‘ignorance’? Or that it looks like ‘parody’? Or both...? Or were you referencing my comment, which you were replying to, which used the word ‘parody’...? Jesus just make your point if you

Lego-man’s sky? Are you guys going to get this one delayed too?

Yea, Jesse Jackson just hates it when people acknowledge that racism is real

It is one. That’s going to be clearer and clearer in the days and weeks to come. They are going to let that statement by Eurogamer hang out there, uncorrected. Someone involved in the game may come out and explicitly state that they made it that way to reflect reality in a sharp and sardonic way. And so what? It’s not

what doesn’t look like satire? you’re being very vague

Yes, exactly. Part of the joke is also that they took something that is usually non-diagetic (ie not a part of the in-game world), and made it diagetic in a funny way. Sort of like how some games punish pirates with chicken hats or whatnot

He’s fine, but I’m not the one who has a problem with this game they put out. He’s probably in it for all I know. You’re the one saying “no, don’t do this message, do that one”.

ugh. damn you for making me google that

Go rewatch the episode on the NCAA - that was very timely, and made a clear point

Sounds like you are OK with a message about current events after all, as long as it’s the one you want.

Maybe you should just say you prefer the episodes that aren’t about anything important. Granted, those have been more frequent recently.

I mostly disagree with that. When they see an issue that needs addressing, they often do so in a clear way. Now it is true that sometimes, the message is ‘a pox on both their houses,’ like with the Game of thrones/console wars episodes. Sometimes its clear and they are on one side, like with the family guy/islam

But it sometimes is about clear messages. Their message to Scientology was clear, same with the NCAA, the network censors, truthers, Bill Cosby, and so on. They do take clear positions sometimes, why are you so down on it here?

Ok fine. But if the game comes out, and it turns out that all it is is a difficulty slider, with the difficulty corresponding to your melanin, with no further facets to it - then would you say that’s a clear message?

In order for that to work as a ‘joke,’ they would need to signal it in some way, such as with the examples you give. If it’s just a straight-ahead difficulty slider, then that seems like a clear message

I saw that quote in the article, and since this part:

Ok, I see now. I agree it is almost certainly not true, I was just giving an example really. I just wouldn’t put it past them to include something secretly that makes it not so clean-cut (like a hidden benefit to the higher difficulty; cf LiFox’s hypothetical about a ‘race card’). It will probably be about 5 minutes

And I did, what comment of mine led you to believe otherwise? You’re being vague

ugh, ok. give them an hour or two to write their garbage hot-take and I’ll link it.

Fine, all that can be true. The alt-right is still going to melt down over this
