While I wholeheartedly agree that buses/waiting for them is depressing, and I'm also glad I was able to walk to elementary school, I will say that I had the same experience when I moved to a new school for second grade, in like 1994.  I'd use to watch cartoons in the morning until I absolutely had to leave for school.

It's okay, I felt a bit pathetic realizing it.  And @avclub-84e4cb10cbf435da0eaac2f8536f52ab:disqus I noticed that too, but in fairness, it's possible it did severely reduce his vision, which we wouldn't be able to realize.

For Geoff's audition episode, they mentioned that he wore dark glasses due to an eye injury he sustained when he was younger.  Torn retina or something. I think I'm remembering that correctly, and a quick Google search backed that up.

But what of Ant Man?

While that's all well and good, I guess, there's the whole "King of the world!!!" Oscar moment.

I clicked this piece just to share this story about her on Letterman (and you're totally right about his enjoyment whenever he comes on.)

I agree with your premise.  I'm also hoping you would agree that there are more reasons why The Help is worse than To Kill a Mockingbird.

I was never that interested in watching Lone Star, but I think a good reason why I was in the hugely vast majority on that was summed up by my uncle, who while watching a Bears game on Fox saw a commercial for Lone Star that outlined the premise and the main character, replied "Wow.  Sounds like a guy I want to root

That is all obviously true.  I've grown tired of his homerism and his basic opinions and the way he thinks about sports.  He's sexist and immature.  And the man has a bigger ego than I've ever thought possible.  It rivals Kanye's, but at least Kanye has some justifiable reasons for being such an asshole.

This was really interesting, and even though I'm absolutely not a Bill Simmons fan, he's the exact type of person that could get this sort of thing going.  In fact, he's probably stealing the idea right now.  It's only a small jump from Hollywood fantasy leagues to actually making an impact.

It's never lupus.

Emily was fairly dismissive of Pip, but I thought he was great.  I was stunned by how he sang that song.  I couldn't have been more surprised had he dunked on a ten foot rim.

No, he is.  However, the second from the left is not, and hasn't been for awhile.  (He was the bass player.)

While I agree that it's a complex issue and that Reconstruction certainly had its flaws, I might disagree that in general poor whites in the south were open-minded enough to be convinced by northerners that they had more interests in common with newly freed slaves.  I mean, I suppose it was possible that the

I guess I could see that, but I'd suggest that show already existed: it was this same exact Late Night show, in the 80's, hosted by Letterman.

I'm partial to his speech as Big Dan, while he's kicking the shit out of Clooney and Tim Blake Nelson.

Aww, I made a somewhat similar point (although you're right, Colbert is way better) and even used the "A+++"…my bad for not reading down first.  Wasn't trying to rip you off.

So…you think Jimmy Fallon is a poor fit for a traditional talk show.  You list all the reasons for that, while wishing he was doing something else.  Yet this show, the show that you say he's a bad fit for, gets an A-?  So, in your perfect TV world where he creates this Fallon WonderShow, would that get an A+++?

Connie Britton, also on The West Wing, although I'm sure you knew that.
