I know right? She was 14! When John Smith arrived. I mean I was only 15 but I was enough of a history nerd to be completely mortified by the idea that Disney would make the kind of movie that they did out of that moment in history.

These pictures do a really good job of conveying how squicked out I was about Pocahontas when it came out. The entire idea that Disney made a 'princess' movie about her and then paired her up with John Smith as a love interest, made my skin crawl.
Oh come on, she writes on a lot of different subjects:
Well, it is until it's their precious snowflake that gets kicked out...
Yup. I went to a public school that straddled a wealthy area and a low-income area. There were three or four prestigeous private schools in the area and we got a lot of their cast offs... Those kids did not help our school's test scores.
Yeah, a lot of conservatives who talk about how much better private schools are than public schools conveniently forget that private schools get to kick out disruptive or under-performing students. It really helps your test scores when you can just get rid of low-achievers.
Wow, he sure has a lot of interesting things to say to the french press...
I don't know. I'm actually American, but I lived in Quebec for 3ish years (still visit once a year or so). I've spent a lot of time in Ontario, but I never paid attention to what time the bars close.
Also, without Montreal, where would young Torontonians run away to when they want to feel cultured and international.
Without Quebec where would Canada get it's art?
Exactly. It doesn't matter what you do. I'm a performer and my audiences are families/general public, my costume is not reveling, my show is not sexual, and I still have men shout "show us your tits".
I think a better plan would be to get the drama students to play fake clients trying to access the clinic in order to take some of the heat off of the actual patients. Maybe a couple of them could turn back and look like they're giving up to give the protesters a sense of satisfaction...maybe they could do it multiple…
It's very very tricky. It's pretty much exactly the way you describe it, but with the extra hurtle of disclosure. You have to find a guy who's into you in spite of the fact that you have your original equipment but not because of it. Every guy you date has to be a hero, there is no real, man dating this dude is all…
You're clearly not swearing right if Quebec French isn't more satisfying. To me putain merde just seems so soft and ineffectual. I can't take it seriously. To me a good eh ouin, je vais t'en crisser un, en tabarnak just gets the point across nicely.
Yeah, I'm American and so yeah, it seems a lot cleaner and straightforward to me. I've gotten to the point where I speak and understand French well enough that I can have conversations with Europeans (for awhile I had a difficult time understanding the accent even when I was fluent in Quebec French—although Belgium…
I love the Quebec accent, I feel like it's a much more grounded form of French. I find it difficult to take French people seriously. The long exaggerated vowels often sound like baby talk to me.
Yeah, treating other humans like humans is a 'thing' now. Sorry that the world is moving too fast for you.
I logged 10's of thousands of miles on the interstate (I've driven in/through at least 40 states). I have both a deep respect for and fear of truckers. I always give safe passing distance, I slow down when I see that they're trying to pass me and I flash my lights to let them know they can come back over. I respect…
Yeah, it's not the pitchfork waving clowns you need to be scared of, it's the ones who make their bullshit sound reasonable (I once listened to a state senator give a speech against gay marriage in a way that sounded calm, thoughtful, and compassionate—it fucking chilled my bones).
That's how I feel about Florida. I miss the beach, palm trees and ocean, but I'm happy to have left the people and the politics behind.
