Why was the EPA telling this couple that they couldn’t build without a permit? Isn’t that more the job of much more local authorities? Say county or perhaps the State? Shouldn’t the house conform to national and local building codes and have proof via inspections to be cleared for occupation?

If your accident was being investigated by a Federal agency and you destroyed the evidence, then yes, you’d be in trouble. Car crashes and plane crashes are completely different things.

Exactly, they’ll report huge quarterly profits that “fell short of projections”. Higher ups get profit bonuses while everyone else has their bonus tied to those unachievable goals.

They know there have been enough layoffs in the industry. They can shit on their employees and expect them to stay.

They are only making high end models because the margins are much, much, much better on high priced cars. For every dollar invested to make the product the return is much better at the high end of the market. They will only make lower priced models if they can’t sell higher priced ones. Interesting. Considering gas is still way cheaper than electric (at least in Canada), not to mention, gas water heaters can run with no electric if they are natural draft. Which means power outage, you still have hot water. To “ban” this is actually kind of scary.
