It has the slushbox. That drops it out of the no-brainer realm, but not enough to drop it into CP territory. NP.

That’s my thinking. Cars exist first and foremost to be driven. From the driver’s seat, it’s a fun car. Wrenching on it doesn’t seem to be too terrible. In the condition it’s in, 25 large is a NP.
Like what, short of putting a Lada body on it?
If they really want to screw up the looks of a nice pretty Miata like that, they can have it. Me? CP at anything over $2000, and that doesn’t even include the discount for being someone else’s project.
Not a turbo. They didn’t introduce the turbo four until 2005. And yes, it’s wimpy.
Not sure I think a lot of the dings...but there appears to be no rust, a major plus. The Outback with the NA four is kinda wimpy, at least with the automatic, but the stick should help that some. Still, don’t expect to go hunting V6 Mustangs in it. I’d look for signs the head gasket and timing belt have been done, or…
Yeah. R170s with the M112 and a stick are rare, and $5K is a no-brainer price for one, even with the fixed roof. NP all day long and twice on Sundays.
My thoughts exactly. It’s as good as a GMT360 gets, which really isn’t bad at all in standard trim. The LS2 makes it a lot more interesting. I don’t care about rare, but I do care about interesting. Sign me up.
“Hold my beer!”
I’ll have to see about posting pictures of my 1987 560SL.
Actually, yes, Black Death is a factor. Mine had it. I didn’t have the oil cooler seal issue, though, or the turbo seal. The intake flaps will throw an error code, but a 50-cent resistor will fix the code and not detract from the engine’s performance. And mine was at 192K when I traded it off, still pulling hard and…
I bought a 2007 RX350 new and loved it - but I like the M-class more. Not as dead nuts reliable (but is anything as reliable as a Toyota product?), but more refined and a better driver - and my 2008 ML320 returned 28 MPG on the highway, day in and day out, which the RX350 would only do downhill and downwind.
I’m on my second M-class, a 2015 ML250 Bluetec - and that after several years with the 2008 version of this very vehicle. I loved the first one, and love the second one just as much.
These are susceptible to 3 main problems: injector seal erosion, which produces a condition known as “black death” (it’s not actually going to kill the engine, just make a big mess if you let it go too long); front differential seal leakage; and leakage from the steering rack. As with any German vehicle, a good PPI is…
There are aftermarket Android-powered head units that look like factory and are literally a drop-in install. I had one in my 2008, and documented the install on BenzWorld.
I had the 2008 version of this for several years, taking it from 133K to 192K miles. It’s a good, solid, comfortable truck that will tow 7200 pounds and do it in comfort, and return 28 MPG on the highway all day long (if you’re not towing). The aftermarket head unit is actually a good thing, since the factory version…
Typical leftie: can’t argue facts, so resorts to trying to silence the argument.
I just forwarded this to my roommate who’s still driving the 1998 Corolla he bought new...
Again, if it was this deadly, we’d see homeless people dropping like flies. Instead, they’re not; one study in Boston studied every last person in one shelter, and out of 403 tested, 120 or so were infected, and exactly 1 was symptomatic - and those symptoms were mild.
