I’d love to see an analysis of the economic benefit that the new safety systems provide. I’m willing to bet that even with the increased cost (both initially and on repairs) they are going to save enough people from death and injury that they provide a net benefit to society.

If you really want to get everyone, add Amazon to that list.

I just moved to Dallas and I don’t have any affinity for the city, but I travel to Houston for work regularly and it seems Houston would fit that description as well.

Burnouts are awesome...at a racetrack.

I had an offer from a dealer a couple of months ago to get a BRZ for $24,500 before taxes and tags. It was the premium (base model) in world rally blue.

I pay $10 per month in my apartment to guarantee my power comes from wind energy generated in my state. It’s doable in many places and with most electricity providers now!

I find it kind of funny that Fiat-Chrysler isn’t even on that chart. Pretty indicative of their forward-looking ability.

Bees fly into cars.

This is interesting. Maybe in the future when automatic braking is perfected and there’s LIDAR in the grille of your car, you can send the data showing the guy cut in front of you at an unsafe distance. I had never thought of that before.

I don’t disagree with what you guys are saying. Skills in these industries (driving/flying) are incredibly important and would save far more lives if we all paid attention. But it’s a statistics game. The majority of people aren’t going to pay attention when driving. Full stop. Technology entering cars means we have

Where did you read that in my comment?

Automatic emergency braking is probably one of the best things to come out of new car technology. I’m human. I could make a mistake. And I’d love to not be rear-ended by another human who could make a mistake.

...never modded except...

This was my first thought. Class 1 would kill Trans Am. Costs would be out of control.

Thanks for the double comment, Kinja.

I saw someone who either built a crosstrek into a WRX or a WRX hatch into a crosstrek (probably that one, just a suspension/wheel change). It was awesome.

Dang. $30k+? I just test drove a 2017 BRZ here in Texas and had an offer from the dealer at $24,500 before taxes.

I’m a huge mazda fan but even I’m sad reading your comment, because where’s my new RX-8? :(

I’m kind of neither here nor there on unions, personally. I’m in a profession where I’ll likely never be in one, but I’ve worked as a non-union employee in a unionized company. They aren’t fun to deal with, but people’s right to collectively bargain should absolutely be protected. I recently moved to Texas and the

I believe that “Premium” is the base model for the WRX, because Subaru has a ridiculous marketing team.
