Financial success often doesn’t correlate to product quality. McDonald’s sells a lot more hamburgers than Five Guys but it would be hard to argue a McDonald’s burger is better. Not the best example, I know, but it’s hard to blame Saab’s financial failures entirely on the cars.
When did 100 become the threshold for fun? It’s still fun to get to highway speeds quickly. Power is about more than just top speed.
It’s adleavde?
“Ah shit, the electronics are on the fritz again. This stupid light is supposed to stay illuminated but it keeps flashing. Let’s just say it’s the heartbeat of a jaguar and go home”
and the start/stop button gently pulses with, I’m told, the resting heart rate of an actual jaguar as you lower yourself into the cockpit.
The soft is squishy, the not soft is hard plastic.
I have a GT, I’m a decent autocrosser, and I had the opportunity to pilot one of these around a course a few weeks ago. I was as fast in someone else’s GT350R that I was hesitant to push too hard as I was in my own GT on the same course. It’s wickedly fast, I loved it. Best car I’ve ever driven bar none
It’s the top of the door panel, where you’d rest your elbow if the window is open
Chevrolet Citation X-11 vs Cessna Citation X
The problem with the mentality of “it’s a corporation’s car” is that the interaction between you and the rental company isn’t one of an individual against a corporation, it’s you and the low level employees at the branch you rented from.
Funny enough this year’s theme was Cone Wars
It’s really not bad. This year’s nationals courses were pretty easy to follow. I think it always looks far more confusing than it walks/drives.
I don’t think I it’s the best we can do. We can figure out a way to remove bias from hiring/school acceptance processes. Make gender/skin color a hidden attribute in early stages
Kinda....there’s still a strong element of driver talent.
Right, and that’s where I agree it becomes messy. Do we want equality or affirmative action? How do we encourage participation with fairness so that some day there’s no asterisk next to a less privileged person’s success?
There’s feeder systems (other racing), but it all has a very high barrier to entry.
I don’t totally follow your logic here.
Well said. I think the way you presented it in the article was perfect, you gave people options that included this individuals GoFundMe should someone feel motivated to donate to him specifically.
One of Crochet’s friends started a GoFundMe to cover home repair costs here, if you’d like to help him out personally. Alternately, there are still many organizations at work in the area helping with everything from shelter to food to rebuilding efforts for residents affected by Hurricane Harvey and its aftermath.
