Competition is good.

The rules are similar, but different enough to still require more paperwork than you’re making out here. The processes are improving, but it’s still needlessly complex and expensive.

Perhaps. Don’t know that I agree with the 2CV or Beetle example as they are from an era predating reasonable safety.

Sure, and I’m not denying that, but there would be a certain level of cost saving associated with uniform safety regulations. Would it be enough to offset the cost of putting airbags in cheap cars in poorer countries? Probably not, but it would be a step in the right direction.

Standardized global safety is something I’ve wanted to see for years. In the aviation industry we spend a lot of money certifying airplanes to all the various agencies, most notably the FAA in America and EASA in Europe. If an airplane is safe in the US it’s going to be safe in Europe, and vice versa: why should

Can I have some of whatever you’re smoking? It must be good stuff

I agree. I just did the USS Constitution quest, and while I found the dialogue and the quest interesting and fun, the dialog options for me became ‘press A to continue’. It felt like a cheap rip off of a usual Fallout quest.

Clark Y? So dated

Quite as good in what way though?

I live in Kansas. It gets cold here too

If the battery is dead it's going to be really cold in the car too.

If you own this, you take it to the Lincoln dealer.

You need battery power to drive so it’s not like getting in it with a dead battery helps.

Cadillac? Look good, nice inside, perform well. Maybe a little above your 40k budget new, but an ATS can be bought around that price

That last line is something I’ve wondered for a long time. Given that the systems are already pretty much in place, why not just make it standard and use it as a marketing tool?

The Sonic hatch is at least attractive

Win buyers with a cheap EV. The i3 isn’t cheap. I can see a healthy demand for a 200 mile range under $30k. Of course with low gas prices it may be slow at first, but gas prices will come up eventually.

While in office? I’d be surprised. As a former president? Sure why not

Even without the V8 the Corvette is still easily a $35k+ car. You’d be paying $10-15k more than a turbo Camaro for basically a turbo Camaro.

NA? Are you insane? That would be terribly underpowered. Corvette’s aren’t pigs but they aren’t that light.
