It's not "his" position. He hasn't introduced anything the the debate. Therefore, all there is to do is analyze his methods…A lot of people condemning him feel like a "protest" in an unquestionable team sport is distracting. Simple.

I hope you're not comparing this guy not standing during the anthem to either of those two, are you?

I have no idea why a German would stand for the national anthem.

The Pats have won tons of times without Brady. Unfortunately, they are just a good system.

What "stand" is he taking? Who cares if he sits or stands during the anthem? Anyone who says they care what a 2nd string QB in a game believes is just being manipulated by the media.

I believe it's fair to say the protest is meaningless across the board.

Seahawks fans are some of the lamest fans in the league..Doesn't matter which side of the state.

It's controversial if you care what a backup QB on a horrible team thinks about anything. I certainly don't. I don't care what his opinion is or what he does or doesn't do…

You forgot "bad QB"

It might take some gumption to actually be a relevant NFL QB. I'd give him credit if I believe he actually had any fans whose minds he may open….

Umm, seriously? Maybe go read the "Introducing Supper Club" comments section and get back to me…..

Please remove my view from your analytics. I accidentally clicked on this article thinking it was about a movie, book, or music.

Honestly, I sort of hate this show but I think there's not tons of great TV on compared to a few years ago. I truthfully thought this episode was a step up considering how slow TWD can be….or how boring a Travis-Chris episode could have been. I fully expected them to give us at least three actionless Travis-Chris

Well, they "have" a stadium as much as Qualcomm does…..

As mentioned below….This isn't a Dances with Wolves scenario….the White Savior owned his race and knew it was the solution to the problem at hand. It was self-aware. I think a lot of people don't "get" this movie because they throw in all their own racial junk instead of being more open minded.

Wow. I didn't realize when Eastwood said "we didn't call that racism when I was young" he meant racism didn't exist. I must have totally misread that statement.

Sorry, I guess I assumed, "He doesn't have empathy for people who are not him, he is literally unable to experience the world outside the lens of an Old, White guy. That's why his rant about "Millenials Getting Over…blahblahblah" thing is hollow. He has no clue what they are saying or why, he's just dismissing it

No, but you seem to be seeing that as a fault and I don't. There are a lot of directors (and artists in general) who focus on a singular subject throughout their careers. Just because his subject is "an old white man" doesn't in any way demean his art to me.

"he is literally unable to experience the world outside the lens of an Old, White guy."…Is that what Letters from Iwo Jima was about?

I will take this as an apology for the horribly biased hit-piece on here when the Esquire article first came out. Great article.
