My two favorites were my first boss’s Turbo Caravan (5spd!) and my budy’s long-since-junked 740 turbo with the welded waste gate... We don’t really know how much boost we were making on the 740.. it didn’t have a blow-off valve either, we ruptured the intercooler runner hose and destroyed a couple of head gaskets...

haha, yup. The Citroen may have been infinitely better put together, but that little flat-twin was choked up in all kinds of ways... long intake track, small valves, low compression, long stroke, etc... the best bets (WITH high-compression heads) put the max power of the base 602 engine at about 32HP, if you move up

Remember, the Trabant is a 2-stroke, it might not be a very good engine, but if there’s one thing you can almost always count on, it’s the ability to wring silly amounts of power out of two-stroke’s with the right mods...

Please remember, without Alfa Romeo, Ferrari would never have existed.

The Trabbi has a higher (potential) HP/lb -or kW/kg, if you prefer- ratio than the Citroen, a lower center of gravity and more tire... that being said its brakes and transmission are both inferior to the high-quality bicycle-derived brakes (not really, but kinda, almost...) and relatively robust child’s toy

My boss has a nice, solid, driver-condition ‘88 420SEL sitting in the business parking lot with $7,500 written on the for sale sign. no bites in almost a year. This is complete bullshit. NO ONE is actually paying these prices for these cars.

My completely stock except for tires and brake pads 2011 Elantra Touring SE pissed off so many WRX bros at the local auto-x. The steering feel is too vague, but the overall chassis dynamics are excellent, the engine is game, if not super powerful, the transmission is solid and easy to shift quickly and the brakes are

its not a real car mechanic simulator if you can't have a "safety meeting" with the deep-well 8mm socket. Some of you will understand this. Those of you who don't have never worked at an independent garage.

Is it just me, or are those VWs hard, man? I think I got every one wrong, which left me at 7/12.

Oh that’s what I did, and the stink and mess sucked donkey-dick. I was mostly lamenting the fact that you can’t always just shove a hacksaw blade through. Damn small diameter bushings :P

hardened steel liners, dog

if only the center hole for all such bushings were big enough diameter to get a standard hacksaw blade into... Diamond wire blades are not cheap and carbide grit blades and spiral blades cut for shit...

ummmm... this Supercharged, inter-cooled, 1.5L 255HP triple is a factory option on Sea-Doo machines...

The biggest problem with increasing speed in MagLevs is increasing power requirements. As I understand it, the current speeds are nearing the absolute power-handling capacity of the systems involved. there may not be wheel/bearing friction (plenty of aero drag though) and mechanical losses to deal with, but without

Lets be clear here, I’m not saying the TGV is the better option at those speeds, (all your points are valid), or that I’m trying to discount the Japanese record, but much as I respect this guy

Once you go Weber you never go back...

No, but by gum it impacted their perceived property values! also, on nights when the wind is just right and you stay super quiet and still you can just make out the “woosh-woosh-woosh” of the spinning blade noise, so, y’know that means everything is ruined. Also, they now have to look at windmills.
