Yeah, playing the game and using the tools the dev has provided you. Sure its not a neat menu that lets you turn off souls dropping or damage numbers but there are tools the game provides you to tweak tge difficulty of encounters.

I mean...if you want to take Elden Ring as an example, Sprit Ashes, Player summons, Magic in general, Torrent in general for some overworld bosses, several unique weapons ie: Blasphemous Blade, Moonveil etc. So yeah, alot of options just not in a neat menu for you

It’s not gatekeeping to say “I would prefer an experience custom built by the game’s director.” It is gatekeeping to say “Developers who had difficulty settings are making a mistake.”

We all played games with and without difficulty option, and we can’t say it’s better with/without that option, and all games should / shouldn’t have the option, because the option itself…
