Wow, thanks for the heads up. I keep a pretty keen eye towards what I will be fixing in the near future and this one slipped under the radar.

Wait a second.
There is LITERALLY NO WAY this trucks frame isn’t Swiss cheese right in front of the rear wheels.
I own 2 4wd blazers of that era :(
To be fair, he has voiced his distaste for the car on this site MANY times. Sure, he got a dud, and sure, the car is front heavy. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.
And that’s exactly why I bought and have kept my speed6. A competent highway cruiser, with a surprising amount of punch under the right pedal. Shame there is literally no car on the market the ticks the same boxes as a speed6 currently at a relatively affordable price.
HEY, Contours are GREEAT. The interior is downright awful, but the Zetec is a great engine. Durable and long lived.
It’s a bit much for the year and model, and I understand that this gen Celica is a bit controversial when is comes to styling, but these things are an absolute riot to drive.
Uh, ok. I’m sure you have a vehicle with an unreleased bus protocol.
I have a burning love for V8 S10s, but yall gotta keep in mind, an LT1 is not a standard SBC, and in a lot of ways can be more trouble than they are worth. No timing marks on the balancer or timing cover because of the stupidity that was optispark. No water pump pulley because the water pump was driven off of the said…
Trust me, I know that. That is why I was so inquisitive when a friend told me that was happening. It has 4 high speed and 3 low speed busses, but apparently, 1 module failure or disconnect brings the whole thing down. I am well aware of how bus protocols work, as I have been repairing them since their automotive…
GM is using a communications system called Global B. EVERYTHING is communicated on one main bus, so if a connector comes loose on something as dumb as a Radio module, the whole car goes into limp mode.
I’m a big derp.
Cars (FOR THE MOST PART) aren’t any harder to fix now. They tell you what is wrong about 75% of the time. Have you ever troubleshot a Holley 1901 carburetor? Have you ever worked on Chevy’s knee action front suspension? You open a hood now and see a sea of plastic and wires. You opened the hood of an early to mid 80's…
Every example you posted is awesome though?
I’m kinda the same way. I have driven and worked on a few, and maybe that’s why they aren’t that exciting to me. They are generally harder to work on Volkswagens. The noises the 6 cylinder cars make from the driver’s seat are pretty glorious though.
I am an avid Chrysler hater, and these were honest, good trucks. The magnum V8s are tough and understressed, the frames and suspension weren’t bad, the trannys would fall out occasionally, but on the whole, they were good. The R/Ts weren’t blisteringly fast, but they were tire shredding machines. the 3.9 was also…
I would be so down if this thing had considerably more rotary!
The Unsullied?
It looks to be in very nice shape, but the price is about 2k too much. 6k for a well sorted X1/9 seems about right. I have always wanted to K swap one of these though...
