We parole people who have done much worse. There is too much emotion involved here - what risk does she pose to people? Do you honestly think she’s going to start stabbing people again? Prison should be for rehabilitation and containment, not punishment for the sake of punishment.

I’m a female and have consistently accepted (after half hearted negotiations, all of which were totally shut down) what I knew were low initial salaries but insisted that I expected 6 and 12 month reviews to facilitate adjustment to my salary based on performance, based on mutual expectations.

This actually works out quite weirdly for companies based in the EU and their US offices.
