He missed the golden-era of "The Simpsons." He also missed what came after. That probably evens itself out.
When I saw him interview Nick Offerman last week, Fallon kept interrupting him as he was telling a story. He does it all the time. He also somehow always brings their stories back to something that happened to him, and babbles non-stop about it until commercial. He's just not a good interviewer.
Conan seems like a decent guy, and this sort of adds to my suspicion that he decided to not be completely jaded from that experience.
Every time I watch Fallon, I can't get over the fact he never lets his guests talk. It's seriously just Fallon asking them questions and then cuts them off mid-answer.

Just replace them with the Beach Boys. Nobody will see the difference.

No I get it. Like I said, some things certainly didn't hold up with the show over the years. And I agree, that myth sure makes the show seem more than it actually was . Hey, have a great weekend as well!
I believe he walked away because the network strong armed him and Frost to reveal who killed Laura Palmer.
I enjoy the show, I recently restarted watching the Blu-Ray set, and while the soap opera elements that it was parodying at the time feels weird at times, the overall story and surrealism make it a joyful watch…
