I stopped reading at propane-driven. CP

Agree 100%. I have a 2012 9-5 and people still think it’s a new car. Also I rarely see another one, except when I visit the shop (Conntech Saab in Warwick, RI is THE specialty place for Saabs in Southern New England). Also have a ‘06 9-3 convertible and people always appreciate it’s looks.

Literally just scrolled down and hit CP

As a full fledge Saabtroll (‘06 9-3 convertible and ‘11 9-5 sedan) even I think this is a CP for all the reasons stated. Heck, my ‘11 9-5 sedan (of which only about 3,000 were available here in U.S.) will never be “collectible” IMO. Mines a lesser 4-cylinder. Maybe the V-6 Awd Aeros will have some value in the future,

Thanks for pointing this out. As an old 0811 who served on one in the first Gulf War, cannoncockers get sensitive to it being called a tank. While it’s possible to shoot the main gun while you’re moving, it’s not recommended, at least if you want to hit anything...

For 49K, sure I’ll drive it. Drive it for 49K, not buy it...

I agree, but I just built a Boxster S (can’t build the Cayman yet) and it was $90K with my not too crazy option list. 20K on options alone. Gotta love Porsche...

My mom DD one of these that was a non SR5. I used to dog it in high school. We used to call it “Mom’s Turbo Beach Wagon” even though it didn’t have a turbo. I just drove it like it did! Would love to grab this, but at that cost, not even close. 10K buys a lot of better cars...

My Marine Corps unit was involved with Khafji. Sierra Battery, 5th Battalion, 11th Marines. We were self-propelled 155mm artillery, six guns to the battery and part of “Task Force Ripper”. My recall was that when it happened we were some distance to the east. To the north, the border between Saudi and Kuwait resembled

Why, why, why? I’m starting to not understand these posts. Why is Jalopnik promoting these POS suvs, and some of the other crap that’s been in the buyers guide articles? How about focusing on the used-car market, where most true Jalops actually buy cars from?

Hey! I resemble that remark! Except my ‘11 9-5 hit 50,000 miles today. I drive it like I stole it and it’s been honestly no worse than any other car I’ve owned as far as maintenance goes.

How about a breakddown of the used car market? I don’t think many Jalop’s are buying new Astons (hat tip to those that are). Most of us could only hope for a used one. A breakdown of what to look for in that situation would be more interetsing, and fun, to read imho.

Sorry Torch. But you’re wrong. Irregardless, these types of “cars” and their owners are menaces to enthusiast drivers. Put them in their $&@! automated boxes so they can be distracted by their phones and leave the roads to the true believers.

I have an ‘06 9-3 convertible w 100K and an ‘11 9-5 w45k, all but 3k by me (it was a steal when I bought it). Both have been extremely reliable and parts have not been an issue. Still, CP for me. Too much $$ and I loathe SUVs as a general rule anyway...

Very few issues my ‘06 9-3 besides usual maintenance. Now has just shy of 100K and runs like new. My ‘11 9-5 (had 3,000 miles on it when I got it, now has 45K) has had few issues (throttle body and rear taillight, both known issues). I’ve got a really good independent Saab mechanic (ConnTech in Warwick, RI). That’s

Saw and heard one at low speed yesterday. Definitely more of an occasion than the typical 911.

Me too. Have it on my phone.

Beautiful space.

It was worse: at one time they were talking about running this race in Providence. Which is like dealing with Boston but even more corrupt, worse potholes and one of the most inept city/state governments in the country!
