The origin of Irish Coffee was most likely San Francisco. If not, it was perfected here. The place to get it is the Buena Vista, at the west end of the Powell & Hyde Street cable car line. The bartenders line up a long line of glasses and put on a show you have to see.
Seeing them made at the Buena Vista Cafe in San Franciso is a sight to behold.
