People loot spawn like crazy. So those players that are fully geared, aren't gathering their gear from one server over time. They often are going to a location that is known for weapon spawns - looting, changing servers (which puts them in the same location), looting, changing servers, etc.

I love that in all of these games, if a mysterious cryptic message is to be delivered, it's shown in a unix shell or equivalent.
