@theORIGINALPOSITION: I use something similar, so I'm a fan, but the original idea would add an ADDITIONAL USB port (i.e. without consuming the cig lighter) whereas the Belkin adapter uses the lighter. The author makes the point that you can charge an additional device this way, without having to put in a cig or USB

@PixelProphet: Actually that's a great idea, partitioning your SD card (is that possible?) and keep it in your camera when you're heading through customs/etc. Keep files in a TC volume on the second partition, copy some pics over to the first partition. Brilliant.

All in all not my favorite LH post, but reminded me of something that actually is quite handy for travel:

@McMike: LOL!! Great idea! Reminds me of the (somewhat odd) Adam Sandler movie Remote Control in which Sandler comes into possession of a remote control which can, among other things, mute and fast forward everyday life.

@BluegrassGeek: Agreed. Though it gave some satisfaction at least to respond to the responders by saying, "Hey, not sure what GoGo posted that you're replying to, since I have him on ignore and can't see what he writes, but thought you'd like to know that he's just a troll and most of us here have turned off his

I used to post regularly on a board that used the software PunBB. As I recall, there was a feature built into the software by which you could eliminate a particular user's comments from your view. Muting them essentially, at least from your perspective. For the most egregious trolls, we'd simply all mute them, and

@halcyon22: Outrageously outraged Congressman to hold hearings in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

@Kin: No, morons who use Belarc and then POST their results to web pages to show off their system speed are famous for releasing the keys online. Belarc simply generates an HTML file for you with all your info. What you do with that HTML file is up to you.

@gizgwer: Sorry for the trouble you've had. I've had the opposite experience, to be sure. I have a number of friends and family members using Mozy seamlessly, and running the occasional backup operation without any problem.

@Ed_Becerra: Ahhh, that makes sense, albeit in a disturbing way ;-) Thanks for cluing me in!

If it's something that still has value, just not to you, don't forget about FreeCycle:

@gnutin: A week? Over the years I've scanned about 10,000 documents of various sizes, but probably roughly equivalent to what people use an office copier for. The directory they're in consumes ~10 GB GB, more or less a MB per document, which is about right for a few pages of black and white comparessed PDF.

I'm sure I'm just being dense, but isn't making a tab larger and more prominent the *opposite* of modest? What am I missing about the name?

@nav13eh: Would you mind then zipping all the files on your hard drive and uploading them to one of the large file transfer sites, say MegaUpload, then posting the link here? That'd be great, thanks.

@davidr521: I worked int he credit card industry for many years so I agree on the formats. My point was that Amex (for example) is not 16 digits and, more importantly, most of the 16 digit numbers which turn up ina full text search of a computer probably have nothing to do with credit cards. Again, it just seems

Hmmmm . . . seems like a dutiful LH user of TrueCrypt for their data partitions and Ccleaner for their system partition would have little need for something like this, right? If I purge my cache/cookies/temp files and I encrypt my non-system files, where might I expect to find this type of mysterious orphaned
