@Howard Blair: Small cats would fit fine, yes. :-) I'm kidding, I'm kidding.

@sinth: Ouch. I have around 2000 albums in my collection (spent my youth working in a record / cd store) so the thought of dumping 30,000 tracks in one folder is far less attractive than just having some duplicates. Appreciate the thought, but shortcuts or something like it is more what I was contemplating.

Anyone do anything creative with "appropriate duplicates"? That is, if I have the same song appearing on 2 albums — 1 from the artist and another a soundtrack album — it seems like there should be a more efficient way of storing them. In some cases I have 5 or 6 copies of the same song spread across various albums,

@njefferson: Costco takes American Express. In fact, there's even a co-branded Costco/Amex card which serves as both a membership card and an American Express credit card. But any Amex card is accepted there.

@guy_in_the_mirror: yes, the description on the Costco website specifically mentions using the gift cards as a gas or office supply card for a business, which is a great idea since gas there is regularly 20 or 30 cents per gallon less than the local stations:

@HenryES: I believe that's just for shopping online without a membership. Gift cards don't carry the surcharge, at least there's no mention of it here:

@jmblackmer: Since you have to be a Costco member to buy or reload the card, it wouldn't make sense for them to sell them outside of Costco, and in fact I've never seen them elsewhere. Gotta get a Costco friend to buy you one, or better yet, join. :-) It's consistently the best retail or online shopping experience

@schmod: This contradicts what's on Costco's own website here:

@Simoniz: If Simoniz means normally (i.e. when you are not shopping with a gift card) then yes, you need to show a membership card, and your check or credit card needs to match the card. And for that matter your photo is on the membership card.

I am the world's most enthusiastic Costco member and it's by far my favorite place to shop. That said, for friends who've not yet drunk the Kool-Aid this is a great idea. If someone's thinking about joining this might be much simpler than trying to coordinate a joint visit, especially for someone who's not

@liveliness: I've not used this program, but my general response would be that deletion is meaningless for any type of data other than, say, a phone or other whole-platform device. The reason is that the person who finds the thumb drive could, before they ever try and access the files, make copies of them to any other

@Honkycat: Sorry if I'm being dense, but are you joking (i.e. that the file name is "political humor") or did they change the post?

@Shmooki & @TreyWaters: And for the record, I love to cook, so this makes sense. My wife and I have made jam before and I agree it's everything you report — more natural flavor, very personal, and probably a little more expensive, but well worth it.

Since it sounds like the ingredients are the same, I'm assuming the benefit here is supposed to be monetary rather than nutritional. It's been ages since I bought a candy bar, but I see Amazon sells them for $.70 apiece.

Anyone know what enclosure is used in the photo for item #1? I'm thinking clear acrylic will be my next desktop enclosure. :-)

My most recent 'fox update was for the specific GMail attachment feature. I wanted some drag and drop action, so I updated.

@maltesh: Wow, it's like one of those races where some guy is so far behind he briefly looks like he's ahead. If you tell someone you're running Mosaic they're liable to think it's some super-advanced browser they haven't even heard of yet! Well played! ;-)

If I've got a helper or even if I'm alone but have a small drilling project, I'll often put the vacuum wand right up near the drill site and vacuum *as* I drill. No mess at all.
