Nukes, drilling, power stations, etc would all barely scratch the surface. Humans are shy of the technology and ability to "vent" volcanoes by many many orders of magnitude.

I'm multilingual and an American and this common criticism of America always struck me as somewhat ignoring reality.

"Whoa, nice grip there, buddy. I don't even want to know what you've been practicing on."

You know what would be cool? If a list app could *remember* the order you checked things off your grocery list, and then PRESENT them in that order next time. That way, instead of me having to manually sort by aisle, it could LEARN the aisles and refine its knowledge over time based on the order in which I check them

I've used Goldwave to do this for years. What I like about it is that you can specify minimum track length AND minimum silence length in which to split. If I have a 10 hour audiobook, for example, I'll have Goldwave split it into tracks of no less than 3 minutes by splitting in the middle of gaps at least 4 seconds in

I think when he said, "good news, no one" would be more appropriate here.

This is just better note taking; a convenient, pretty way to pull your highlights out of a multimedia textbook. You can still review the cards and write them down if you want. I'd rather have it than not.

@ZavenMnatz - It's also IOS 4.0x only. Unfortunately, even wit Whited00r, the 1st gen Touch is forever stuck on 3.1.3. :(

I guess that falls under the same moralizing that says that iOS device owners should not be looking at adult images. So silly . . .

I was thinking water temperature could be a factor as well.

My three year old daughter has been Skyping with my parents, who live halfway across the country, for a few years. I ask her where they live and she says, "in the computer." So, yeah... Cute video and story.

My mother has a cochlear implant after being deaf since the 80's (she's in her 60's now). The sound was far from clear from the start, your brain has to adapt to electronic signals being sent to it from that outside source. At first, she could only hear metallic "sound" and she couldn't really understand our voices to

Nothing BTT (blog.boastr.net) can't fix. I use 2 finger swipe all the time on Chrome.

So if a cat always lands on its feet, and bread always lands buttered side down, what if instead of buttering the cat, you butter some bread and *tie* it butter side up to the cat's back. THEN what happens??

Great guide as usual, thanks! For a bit of time savings, you might want to defer the defragmentation till *after* you've backed up your data files and deleted them from the hard drive. No reason to defrag 250 GB of files you're not going to be imaging, right? If you are migrating from a 300 GB drive with 40 GB OS, 250

Unless I misunderstand your example, you've subtracted 40% of your billable hours for overhead (when you said you were subtracting 20%):

How would a bank offer this to someone who was *not* an account holder? :-) Unless you mean that you can only get the credit card if you have a checking account with them, which is not the case. Any Citibank credit card has this available, regardless of whether you're a retail Citibank banking customer.

I'm not a Tasker expert, so this may not be possible (though it seems like *anything* is possible with Tasker . . . could you have it email you with a photo from the top and bottom cameras? Might be a useful clue in certain instances.

Hypothetically, what if I were, say, a member of Parliament, or the Japanese Diet or — again just hypothetically — the US Congress. Is there a photo upload service that you'd recommend if I wanted to discreetly share pictures of a private nature — say of a fundraiser, or a poetry reading or, I dunno, my wardrobe
