As someone who is currently pregnant, I'll add to this that not every thing a pregnant woman eats is due to cravings. Sometimes we just want some goddamn ice cream or a cheeseburger. It's exactly like when we're not pregnant, which is a time that we also eat food.

". . .indulging in frozen yogurtand burgers for Kunis' pregnancy cravings". I like how the magazine specifies this food was eaten for pregnancy reasons.God forbid a woman indulges in frozen yogurt or a burger otherwise.

Oh thank god, I feel like she was pregnant forever. Like, her pregnancy seemed longer than MY pregnancy and I swear I was a sweating pregnant hippo for 87 weeks.

Man, with those parents? That baby is going to be one incredibly attractive disappointment at the box office.

Mila Kunis makes me like Ashton Kutcher and I don't know how to reconcile that with my Two and a Half Men hate. Many congratulations to them!

Pretty sure she was one of the presenters. Basically, a giant event of awesomeness.

That looks suspiciously like Jamaica Kincaid in the background, and she's part of Harvard's AAAS Department so... extra awesomeness.

Holy shit, what would I do if I met both Shonda Rhimes and Oprah Winfrey at the same time... I'd pass out from the sheer gloriousness of it all.

I still think, personally, that they're on the "muchimuchi" end of the spectrum by most Japanese standards. I'd be curious to see what Japanese responses to this have been.

In college a girl on my floor told me that she bit a black kid on the playground when she was five because she "thought he was made of chocolate." She saw this story as a cute "kids are funny/dumb" tale, and thought I was the weird one for being bothered that she made it to five years old without meeting a black

One of my white friends told me a story about why her family moved to XYZ place. When she was in kindergarden or 1st grade or something she saw a black person at a distance and ran to her mom, confused at why this person was colored differently. Mom was so surprised and disturbed by this that they decided to uproot

i have lived there. and no. there are properly fat people. no, you wont see as many grossly obese people, but there are certainly regular fat people. as in, have fat bodies, not just round faces like these girls.

In Japan they are definitely on the larger end of the spectrum.

I doubt that her town was welcoming of her lesbian relationship - they probably didn't know about it. People don't bat too many eyes at ladies being "roommates", but by adding a mixed race child to their family, they end up drawing a lot of attention to themselves and blending in is pretty impossible then.

That was pretty much my thought. As a fat guy, I don't like the idea of everything I do being cast in the light of my obesity. There is an actual person in there too— with talents and skills and feelings that have their own merits independent of my weight.

Oh, okay. Thank you. I appreciate you detailing that for me.

That too. I'm also curious about (from the very sidest part of my eye, that is) this hometown that is so racist no one will cut a mixed race child's hair, but so welcoming to lesbians that it was a perfectly fine place to raise their should've-been-white kid. Seems like a very particular mix of Americana in that

The UW-Madison creative writing department is repping strong on Jez today.

Separating the racial aspect from this, if you were given the wrong sperm, wouldn't you be upset?
