Adults use them all the time. They have nothing to do with adult vs child.

The law jus makes it so they don’t automatically give you a straw/stick one in your drink. Instead you have to request it so it has to be a decision with effort if you’d like a straw rather than just getting one without asking.

Okay, just to help you be more understood: in a restaurant, a dishwasher is always a person. A dish machine is never a dishwasher.

One obvious solution is to drink more beer and less tea, soda, cocktails, shakes, etc. Only serial killers drink beer through a straw.

As a symbol of society’s damaging addiction to single-use plastics and our throwaway culture, straws are hard to beat. If they did not exist, there would be scant reason to invent them.

i would prefer not to meet that person, quite frankly.

I’ll allow it, but using black licorice makes you a monster.

I replaced “guys” with “you fuckers”. No one was amused.

I’d say since the at least the ‘70s — I understood “guys” was a gender neutral term when I was a kid using it in the early ‘80s and I doubt that was a new practice then.

I think at this point it is safer not to speak, look at, touch, or interact in any way with anyone at all ever again. I pre-apologize for offending anyone with this post. I pre-understand that any responses to this post are not meant to be offensive, irregardless if I or anyone else find it to be so. Thank you.

“Hey, you guys fuckers want to go get some pizza?”

Naw I’m good, dude.

Or just set your CPU to self-destruct.

I use guys because I work in a mixed environment with intelligent, educated, and logical women who don’t become offended by something as paltry as common usage words. Luckily they all have made it to where they are through their own hard work and intellect and are not threatened by random words.

Just because some believes it’s unacceptable doesn’t mean it is. Don’t fall into this black hole. People tend to find a solution when there seems to be no problem.

I’ll just keep using guys. Thanks.

“Guys” for plural entities has been gender neutral since at least the 90s. Let’s find a real problem to solve.

I want to meet the person who is offended of being addressed as “guys” in a group setting.

“Guys” is already gender-neutral. It’s been that way for a long time now.

Nope.
