@user2: I'm going to make a wild guess and say that the software libraries that each developer uses, be it .NET or whatever, has some inbuilt function that can take an arithmetic string and return the results. So it's virtually free function for the developer. I can't imagine any developer actually writing the code to

Leaping lizards! MightyBox is Java-based, you run it from a .bat file, there's no settings GUI, and it eats 50MB of RAM! You might as well have just said that it reformats hard drives and eats your children!

But Unix is none of these things. Oh I see, this list is derived from things that Unix *should* be, right? ;-)

Highly recommend episodes two and three.

If you have a single keyboard, mouse & monitor and want to control multiple Windows computers then remote admin is a really good (but not free) product. It beats VNC hands-down in every conceivable way.

This also suppresses Windows inbuilt support for viewing ZIP files as folders in Explorer, right?

Man, there are a lot of jokers on here today. Not knowing what the gas filler arrow means! Not knowing which side up to insert paper into a fax machine!! You guys crack me up. It's April 1st, right?

I'm impressed by people that can see beyond the bug-ugliness of Total Commander. I just can't bring myself to do it.

I vote for a product name change before this thing goes much further. But I like the general premise of the software.

@mb: Maybe I misinterpret the FAQ statement but I infer from the comments about firewalls that the software will not properly function if it is unable to authorize the registration code. And to do that it contacts [hellopdf.com] which, I believe, is hosted in China and maybe owned by a technology university.

Can't say that I'm a big fan of free software that requires you to "authorize your free registration code" and then dials home to a website hosted in China, if the FAQ is to be believed.

For XP I can recommend the Iconaholic folder icons. I use these a lot, expecially for folder links on my desktop.

@LastVigilante: There must be some crafty way to migrate the settings. Maybe decompose the 1.25 (xml?) settings file, and then use autohotkey to inject those settings back into 2.0.

@gpzbc: The hot key *is* configurable, just as before. I also use ctrl+space. Alt+space is such a bad default, imo, when you consider that Launchy's audience is full of keyboard ninjas — people who frequently use alt+space for window control.

Wow, 21MB is a lot. That's about 1/3rd of the VM size of Microsoft Outlook on my system. I thought that Launchy had stopped using the .NET Framework ;-)

Something about the timing of those shots or the playback speed makes it very uncomfortable to watch.

Cool transition from Qwerty to Dvorak.

Sweet, this has my two least favorite pre-requisites: Java and JavaScript.

That list of the "100 Most Often Mispronounced Words and Phrases in English" includes "Heineken remover" (for "Heimlich maneuver"). How can that possibly be in the top 100? I doubt that the phrase "Heineken remover" has even been said 10 times in the whole of human history, and two of those times were by me just now.

Hey, it even pronounces "chaise longue" properly. That'll upset all those people who pronounce it "shays lounge". Nice.
