@Bad Juju: Eaton uses a Roots-type design. A lot of Mercedes SLKs had twin (Lysholm) screw superchargers though.

@John Krewson: I'm thinking maybe it will convince a little Mexican boy to release it from its tie-downs and then start driving itself around having adventures with the little boy. Oh wait, theres not an 8 on the side of it.
"dual screw" FTW
@jarque: OK so I just now read the edmunds article. Needless to say I didn't want tamper with the car and have a fat charge added to my credit card.
I rented one of these for a day in Las Vegas. The best part about it was the rumbling down the strip and getting a lot more attention than the exotics (that'd be exotic cars, not dancers) and stretched Hummers. Lots of fun for a day, not something I'd want to own.
The driver of this car scares the shit out of his passengers. Literally.
@Paul Y. — Now With More Sodium!: mmmm... nosebeer
The Jensen would definitely be the deeper pit of hell and therefore my choice. I can just picture (deludedly) having it all restored and unveiling it to my bewildered family: "It's a WHAT?" "Looks like a station wagon!" "You wasted a big block on that?!" "Wait, it's NOT a hemi?"
5:23pm Suze Orman: Don't buy a ZR1!
allpar seems to be pretty much a mopar fansite. I'd be hesitant to consider it an unbiased resource but allpar has this to say about the Caliber:
@mikedrawcar: When Callum became head of Jaguar design he had started the DB9 and Vantage. It's not clear how far along he was before Fisker took over.
@graverobber- Two BEER minimum: I thought the same thing... that Ford concept (it had some snakeish name didn't it?) but with some Corvette mixed in. Not as clean and essential as Fisker's designs (loved the Z8!).
Isn't the current Sebring based on the Galant? And of course the 300, et. al. are based on the old E-class. Caliber, Compass, Patriot and PT Cruiser rely heavily on Mitsubishi parts as well. When was the last time Chrysler built a car that was truly their own?
@FЯeeMan:
I think a fitting tribute to Mr. Pininfarina's memory would be for everyone who has a Pininfarina-designed car (I wish I were one of you) to get it looking its best and take it out for a drive on Sunday. Remind the world of the beauty that the Pininfarina family and their talented designers gave us. Remind people what…
The only problem I'd have with driving this is all the bites I would get from dogs who thought I was the mailman.
@WesR: It's also fun to blow by everyone stopped at the Benicia Bridge toll plaza going 70mph. Suckers!
@jarque: or just take BART.
@crewcutkid: Have you ever tried to cross the Bay Bridge anytime close to commute time? It's a helluva lot more than a 10 second slowdown if you're paying cash.
@beercheck: You're correct, sir. This long ago stopped being a logical argument (if it ever was one).
