@Spasticteapot: Maybe cause I like seeing stuff blow up I thought the same thing as you did. I figure they'd be a great addition to shoulders and medians where jerks like to cut around traffic and jam back in.

Thats the hooniest hoon I've seen in a long time! Jalop knows how to put a grin on my face

@BMRFILE: My dad uses his truck for work not play. If you started adding a 30% tax on large vehicles small business owners like my dad would be out of business. Plus, in California it already costs 4 to 5 times as much to register a commercial truck versus a regular passenger car. If you'd like to live in a country

@turbo1168: My dad's rig is around 60 feet long and the trailer connects at the rear of the dump truck so I don't think he makes many U-turns if any. Also, I fact-checked myself about the weight of the backhoe (Case 580 Super M) and it's closer to 9 tons (but the CHP doesn't need to know that).

@turbo1168: I once remarked to my dad that a new Dodge Ram with the Cummins diesel had more power than his '83 GMC Brigadier dump truck and could probably more easily pull his trailer he uses to transport his 7 ton backhoe, extra buckets, and tools. His reply was "Yeah sure a Ram could pull it, but how would I stop?"

@BMRFILE: As long as there are rich people willing to shell out the dough there will be vehicles like this. They're not likely to sell many of these anyway.

@jarque: I'm also a bit concerned about overwhelming the DSG transmission. I'm not sure how much torque and horsepower it can handle.

@StimulusCheckAsh: According to the guy who sold me my GTI (a dubious source, I know) the 2.0T FSI can achieve 250hp by installing a free flowing exhaust and reprogramming the ECU. I figure I'll try it when I have money to burn and my warranty is expired.

I think satin black looks great on hot rods, especially with some nice contrasting orange Von Dutch style striping. And I think satin black is good for hyper-expensive cars also, if they're going to be driven in an urban setting. However, I like to imagine myself piloting a car like this through the horseshoe curves

Acura powered? This needs to be jet powered, obviously. Give this guy those Kiwi hoons' phone numbers. Kudos on the variable wingspan though.

@Ash, Harbinger of Mediocrity: Any firefighter or EMT will tell you that the reach through door handles give you the best leverage for wrenching open the door of a car that's been crunched. If you're in an accident and you need medical attention you don't want to have to wait for the jaws of life to extricate you from

@no_slushbox: Holey Moley! I can only guess that it's for maritime applications or stationary generators. Am I close?

Someone, somewhere thinks this car is beautiful. But I can't for the life of me understand why.

For some people it's just gotta be a 'Stang. And this is one helluva 'Stang.

I don't care if it's called clownpenis.fart. It looks cool and goes fast. Enough said.

They appear to be escapees from Pan's Labyrinth

This thing is way too weird and interesting looking for the environmentals. Consider the things greenies love... tofu, Al Gore, Priususes - all of them are Bland-O-Rama.

@Hammers-On: Spy photogs like Priddy's crew use massive lenses with focal lengths of 1500+mm so they can shoot from a concealed place a safe distance away. Capturing video and sound from that far away with a camera that can be hand held and easily transported would be seriously difficult.

I can attest to how stunning this vehicle is in person having seen it and several other Blastolene creations at the Good Guys show in Dublin a while back. I also had the pleasure of hearing (and feeling the rumble in my chest) the V-12 Packard boat engine in one of the other Blastolene cars. Six straight pipes blaring
