@falcon522: My apologies in that case, that is quite the harsh way to find out news that devastating. I had heard otherwise from some friends at EA. #pandemicstudios

@CitizenTian: We are heading into the twilight of the games industry. I always hope it was unique enough to avoid becoming like Hollywood, but too many people decided it was better to follow an existing industry model than forge their own.

@yargh: It doesn't matter whether or not they have ever made a bad game. Its the simple fact that they are attempting a subscription based game in an arena that has seen a colossal amount of failures in the past several years.

@iamspoo: Oh get off your high horse. There have already been several people from Pandemic here commenting that everyone knew about it and most cleaned out their offices last night.

@Revolution_is_coming: You are wrong. The mass-market gaming sector is the single largest opportunity for the future. Selling click to play flash games to bored tweens and housewives is far more profitable over time than spending hundreds of millions to develop a "traditional" game. #pandemicstudios

@Lincolnsbeard33: All it would take is for The Old Republic to not be wildly successful.

@KichiGuy: It was very much a "Consolized" action game, more so even than IW was. Most of the information was conveyed via a Q&A thread with Rene, the EM liason with the community. A little digging on TTLG or the Eidos DE3 forums should turn it up fairly quickly.

Is that an image from Hotmails infancy up there? #remainders

@KichiGuy: Deus Ex is most likely the best PC game ever made, or at the very least in the top 3. I had great fun in college whenever I came across people studying to be "Game Designers" who had never played Deus Ex, among other things.

I find it intriguing how blizzard has taken a stream of consciousness approach to the development of WoW. Rather than pigeon-holing it rigidly in the Warcraft lore, it is a game that evolves constantly, attempting to appeal to everyone. It is rather more like a virtual themepark experience, than a traditional online

@Arstrig: Interplay is the undead necromantic developer that just refuses to die. Hell, it operated out of one mans apartment for years after it went bankrupt.

@KichiGuy: Oh that's the thing. They did tell him, repeatedly, and very bluntly, that Eidos was fucking the cow with razors in regards to what they had planned for DE3.

Am I really the only person so far who's gone "Wut?" at the Genghis Khan MMO listed up there? #directx11

Deus Ex 3 is rumored to have been canceled. They sold all of the promotional material in the store some months ago, and haven't said a word about it to the community.

I see an awful lot of MW2 being played on that list.

@PoweredByHentai: I will admit that the DSLite was by far an improvement, its what the DS should have been in the first place.

Remind me when incremental updates with no fundamental changes became the norm as opposed to major earth-shattering changes?
